So, the big appt was yesterday and unbelievably, she said that insurance would definatley pay for the boobs (getting them reduced, evened and lifted!). They would have to wait to see if the tummy tuck would be covered too---but she said they are way more picky on those. If I were to pay out of pocket for the tummy tuck, it would be $5400, which I qas quite surprised at! I thought it would be around 15K!!! Now the big question is whether to do it this summer or wait to next. If I do both surgeries at the same time, I can't pick up anything over 10lbs for 6 weeks. I will have some help around, but not picking up chunky babies doens't seem like such a reality! I may have to wait until they are walking more! hmmmm....

I would do them both at the same time. For one thing, it'd be done with. Another, if your insurance will pay for the boob job, but not the tummy tuck, at least maybe some of the cost won't come out of pocket (anethesia). I hope all goes well for you!

YEAY for you! I would love new boobies since mine I'm sure will be pointing to the ground by time I'm done BFing the twins :p Personally I would opt to have both done at the same time only because you're already going under, why not get it all over with. Good luck with your decision!

I agree that it would be best to do it all at once so you only have one recovery period. I know you probably don't want to wait but it will be easier when the babies are more mobile and you don't have to do as much lifting. Keep us informed on your decision!

My sister went for a consult for a lift because she thought she had saggy bb's from bf'ing. As it turns out she doesn't need a lift at all. He said she is just "deflated" from bf'ing and needs implants in there to fill them back out.
Implants are less exp. than a lift, so now she won't have to pay for a lift and implants. Just getting the implants.

PS>My sis still thinks they are saggy, but the PS assured her that this is his profession and they are not saggy. LOL.................just deflated, the life is sucked out of them. LOL

I say do it all at the same time. IF ins. is indeed covering your boobs then your anesthetic and everything will be covered under your boob surgery, so have the TT done at the same time.
IF you wait and do the TT at a different time then you will incur all of those costs again totally out of pocket.

I got boobs when my dd was 5 mos old and she was VERY chunky and heavy. I was able to start moving her around minimally around 2 weeks. I did all diaper changes on the floor for quite some time.

At the end of this month I'm having a hysterectomy and diastasis recti repair. So, a gen. surgeon is doing my hyst. and a plastic surgeon is coming in and doing the repair along with a tummy tuck. The actual TT won't be covered by ins. however since I'm having the hys. all of my hosp. charges, anest., etc will be covered under the hyst. surgery. So, that's why I'm having it all done now.
BOTH Dr's told me that I can start handling my babies around 2 weeks post op. They weigh around 14 lbs each right now. Of course, they said I can't overdue it but I know how to be cautious. I will listen to my body and know if I've done too much.
I will have help around for the first 2-3 weeks, too. I guess I'm suggesting that maybe you go ahead and do it now. Although you have the lifting issue, I think it's easier to care for the kids and recover the LESS mobile they are. Once they are walking and running around it will be tougher on you I think.

HTH!! Good luck and that's awesome your ins. is covering for you!!

OMG, I am so jealous!! You are so lucky!!! I'd definitely get it all done all at once too.

Interesting about the boobs being "deflated" and not needing a lift ... didn't know there was a difference!!!

And we want one more child after these two, and after I'm done BFing that one ... surgery time for me too!!!!!!
