Sarah stayed dry all day at daycare!

I've never made a big deal of whether the girls stay dry or not, but at daycare they get lots of praise for having a dry diaper when potty time comes around. Sarah stayed dry all day yesterday, and her teacher was so excited, she called me at work to tell me.

On the one hand I'm proud, but on the other hand... yikes! She doesn't stay dry at home, and never initiates. (She doesn't initiate at school either -- they get taken to the potty every hour or two.) I'm not sure how to handle a possible situation in which she's daycare-trained but not home-trained! (We barely spend any time at home anyway -- on weekends, we're almost always out unless it's naptime.)

At what point do I dig out the panties and see if she wants to wear them to school?

I'm thinking of giving it a week of staying dry all day for Bea before I try underwear again. She stayed dry almost all day yesterday and today so far. The only time she peed yesterday was when we were in the car going from the playground to my parents' house, about 30 min trip. I probably should have taken her to the bathroom at the park. I'm doing pull-ups with her so she can go potty a little more independently.
Still not sure what to do about poop, she just won't go on the potty.

Alden, just go for it. Send along a few pull ups too just in case. You'll never know unless you try (oh and a change of pants and socks).

    GOOD LUCK!!

I have to agree! Apparently she's ready. Why make her initiate it? Just take her every so often. If she holds it in between, she's got it down! Good for her, good for you! She'll figure out the initiate it soon enough. LOL- you'll just have to know where all the potties are at all of your regular out and about places.
