OK- I don't have time to write out the whole story, but here's part of it. On bedrest from week 20-34, made it all the way to 37 weeks & my scheduled C-section on April 29th. Siena came out 1st @ 4 lbs. 13 oz & then Sara @ 5 lbs. 4 oz. The 1st 2 days were magical- the skin on skin, feeding them and just plain lovin on these girls that I've waited my whole life for. (I spent 2+ yrs. TTC & had thyroid cancer in the middle of it all.) On Day 3 in the hospital, my hubby & I noticed Siena looked blue. The nurse came in, took her to the nursery & it happened again. She then was sent to the NICU & hasn't left. The next day, she did it again while I held her- it was the worst moment of my life. After a ton of tests, they ruled out anything major wrong & think it may be some type of reflux that is making her heart rate & oxygen levels drop. They put her on some meds & we thought she had started to "self-resolve", but it happened again earlier this am. I know it will get better but it's been sooooo hard recovering from surgery, caring for a newborn @ home and having to go back & forth to the NICU (and relying on family & friends to help me w/ everything!) On a happy note, Sara is doing soooo good. I just wish her sister was healthy & home so they could be reunited. I'm so sad that they're not together & bonding like they should be. I suppose all in good time......

Pray for us if you would!!! Here's some pics of my cuties!!

I have a Sierra and Sienna !! We will be thinking of your little Siena and hope she gets back together with you soon. Make sure you take some pictures of her in NICU with all that equipment on. My girls had some treatments as well early on, and those pictures reminded me of their early struggles and how far they have come. Give that camera to every nurse and keep getting pics of you with your babies at each visit. Day 3 or 4 is a cry day. I also really cried alot when I came home and my girls were still in hospital. Thanks for the beautiful pics.

Thanks everyone! I'm happy to announce that Siena is coming home tomorrow!!! Unfortunatety, she'll be hooked up to a monitor, but at least she'll be home with us and her sister. I cannot wait for them to be together- they haven't been since they were 2 days old. Thanks for the compliment ivfbound078- a little makeup & lipstick does wonders!

I'm updating my blog daily in case anyone wants to see more pics & what's been happening. ;) (It's been very theraputic and fun! Sure I won't be able to once the 2nd one comes home! haha) Visit My Blog

Congratulations, BIG hugs to you all. In a few months, you will look back and feel like everything you are going through was just a blip in time. Hang in there, you all will be home together before you know it. :) xojillian
