Sandwiches

ARGH! Phoebe is now a happy sandwich eater. I love it. It's easy to pack lunch for her for school and when we go to the beach. Archer, however, refuses to even try a sandwich. It's driving me nuts. He will only eat hot dogs or chicken nuggets. Anyone else experience this and will he EVER eat a sandwich?

He is very resistant to change and really really likes routine. I will keep trying to offer them, but I want him to eat!

 

Yours are way older than mine, but I find that if I try something and they reject it, I can present it in another way and they'll be all over it.

Sometimes I hide things (vegetables/meat) in things (vegetables/meat).
Sometimes I just cut it up so it looks different (strips/cubes/triangles).
Sometimes I just give up and try another day and suddenly they like it

 

Will he eat a piece of bread? With Kayla we started with bread then bread with butter and then usually whatever Kyle puts inside she wants rolled outside so she eats two pieces of bread with butter, a slice of cheese and a rolled up piece of ham all separate.

 

I was also going to suggest trying to take the sandwich apart and giving it to him. My girls used to take their sandwiches apart and eat the cheese and meat from the inside of it and then sometimes eat the bread. They liked eating the meat all rolled up and making donuts out of the cheese (you know bending it in half and taking a bite out of the center, so they could look through it). Does he eat the bread of a hotdog bun? Maybe try to make a sandwich out of the bun and see if he eats that.
