Samuel Jacob is here!

Samuel Jacob arrived on Tuesday, 11/24 at 9:13 pm.

I had labored all day. Decided to go be checked by the midwife at 4pm and was 1-2 cm so we new something was changing. Decided to go home and get everyone settled before heading to the hospital. My water broke in the car on the way to the hospital at 6:25. (Our new LEASED car...ugh...lol). After getting my antibiotics for testing strep B+, I labored in the tub for a while before saying I had to get out. I was checked again at that point (about 8:45) and was 7-8 cm. At this point, I completely lost control and was BEGGING and BEGGING for an epidural. After about 1-2 more contractions I suddenly had to push. I practically jumped out of the bed when that feeling hit me. Good thing no one was standing too close or I would have taken them out. LOL. So, I pushed for about half an hour before the big guy finally made his way out. Shoulder dystocia again, which caused a bit of a panic, but he was OK.

Here are his stats: 10 lbs 4 oz. 22.5 inches long. We new he wasn't going to be small. I don't really make them that way.

He's doing great. I'm healing pretty well. Much, MUCH easier than my previous two deliveries. I'll update with pics soon!

 

Congratulations!!! I love the name!! Sorry about your car! LOL Of course that is going to happen then! DH was so worried that my water was going to break.. I had excess water. YOu beat me for size.. barely! Congratulations again! Can't wait for pictures!

eta: Oh, and that is my mom's birthday!!! He'll have a thanksgiving birthday some years! Glad you got the birth you wanted! That is the best feeling!
