    Hello,

I posted 2 weeks ago because I had weird burning pain under my rib cage...well, it only got worse, so I called my OB I asked her about it. She said it sounds like my abdominal muscles are torn or are tearing in that area. I was too upset to remember to ask what to do about it, if anything...and I do see her tomorrow. But I wondered if any of you have had this, and if so, what did you do? Advil would help so much, but I'm not supposed to take that. Tylenol doesn't even touch it. Cold does not seem to help at all, but heat does (yesterday I was drinking tea and the hot mug against the area felt wonderful!). But I'm afraid of hurting the babies by putting hot compresses there. Its the area just under my left breast, but I do feel some kicking in that area, so I know they're there...can they feel a heating pad on its lowest setting or something similar? Is there anything else that someone has found helpful? I am barely making it through the work day without collapsing in tears from constant pain. But I'm otherwise cleared to keep working, and with 3 months to go till my due date, I'd really like to keep working as long as possible.

    Thanks!

I am so sorry you are having that pain
Definitely call your Dr/Nurse & double check what is OK so that you can treat youself without worrying if you are hurting anyone :)
    Good Luck!

Yes, be careful with the heat. I know ice is totally safe but get the Dr.'s ok for the heat

Definitely check with your OB, but mine said I can use heat as long as it doesn't raise my core temp. She said as long as it doesn't turn my skin pink I'm okay. I'm a couple weeks behind you, so don't know if that would make a difference or not.

I've been having trouble in my lower abs where i had hernia surgery and when it got so bad i was in tears my Dr told me to put a heating pad on a lower setting over it, which helped and also prescribed me vicodin to take when absolutely necessary. In the last 2-3 months since i've had such problems i think i've broken down and taken maybe 3 vicodin at all (when the pain is unbearable). I've definitely have been thankful for the heating pad and i noticed that while tylenol didnt do much and heating pad only helped so much, doing both generally made the biggest difference. Good luck and dont hesitate to call your dr!
