The time is upon us. We start full-time early childhood program on June 27th. At this center they provide snacks but you send a sack lunch. Can you ladies throw out some ideas to me that have worked well? My girls don't care for peanut butter unfortunately. I think there is a fridge so things can be kept cold. This is new territory...I cook almost every meal here - hoping to compile a list from ideas from others...yes, I am being a bit lazy. :) Thanks in advance!

When my girls were 3 , they had to have a nut free, meat free lunch . I did cold pasta, i did cheese sandwiches, yogurt is a bit hit as well. If i could have done meats: I would have done turkey roll ups (turkey rolled with cheese).

If you are feeling really ambitious check out the weelicious facebookpage for school lunches.

Luckily my boys’ school provides breakfast, snacks and lunch. You do have to pay extra for breakfast but for the three days they go to school it is a lifesaver in the mornings. However when they start public school I’ll be packing their lunch and I would like to think I will pack something like the pictures above. We will see how that goes.

Wow - I was blown away from that weelicious presentation...maybe I will start packing my own lunch according to them. Or maybe I could pay someone to do it for me...lol.

Unfortunately they request no meals requiring heating or cooking. :(

What about a thermos of spaghetti-o's or soup? It should stay warm...

Will you marry me? This list is great for Aaron for next year. I forgot about the babybel cheeses. He loves them and they would be great in a lunch.

Sure, meet me at work. It's legal in DC.

There's also hummus and pita. My kids love it but it makes a huge mess, all the more reason to do it at school!
