I've been meaning to ask this, but just remembered when I read the Baby Bjorn potty chair thread. Do you have a stepstool for your kids to use so they can reach the sink?

Mine hate having their hands washed and I think a lot of it is because we have to hold them around the middle and basically dangle them over the sink -- I wouldn't like that either! But I wonder if they are old enough to use a folding step stool -- and is it a potential hazard if they get a finger pinched in it or something?

Our bathroom is pretty small and there isn't anywhere we could "hide" it where they couldn't get at it (unless we just shut the bathroom door while they're free-roaming). Because the room is so small, we also don't really have space for a non-folding stool (plastic or wood or whatever). We'd have to store it in the bathtub.

Anyway, just curious what everyone does.

The kids bathroom is small also but we leave the step stools out all the time to allow them the freedom of going to the bathroom on their own. We have one in front the sink and one in front of the toilet.

We have the plastic baby bjorn stepstool. It's non folding, but I just tuck it away the best I can between the toilet/sink. They use it when they're on the potty and then move it over to the sink to wash their hands.

    yup!
we have a one step one in the bathroom and a two step one for the kitchen. My 5 and 7 y.o still use them.
Our bathroom is very small so there is no place to hide it either. The functionality beats out "pretty" in this one, no brainer for us.

We don't have a step stool, so I'm not really answering your question. But, the way we wash hands is I have a spray bottle of soap and water mixture and I spray their hands with it. They LOVE getting sprayed and ask for "more saah". They still don't like the part where I have to wipe off their hands with a towel, but at least it's not too horrible.

We have two really nice wood step stools from Target (they have a little storage area in them too). We bought one originally but the kids fought over them so we bought two. They love them and we use them all the time. One is in the bathroom and the other is in the kitchen. We do cart out the bathroom one and bring it into the kitchen so that we can cook together sometimes. They LOVE that!!!

FYI, when I went to Target yesterday, I saw that they were on sale!

And to add...we have a VERY small bathroom too (the only bathroom in our house with a bath/shower). We keep it right outside the door and they move it in front of the sink when they need to use it!

We have plastic step stools from Ikea that nest inside of one another. They use them every night when they brush their teeth and when they wash their hands.

We have the baby bjorn ones, but i feel like they'll have to be three or four before they can use it! They're still way to short to reach, although they're not that short for their age!
