We have a used SBS stroller (I'm not sure the brand or anything). It's just fabric, with canopies. When can we start using it? I don't have any instructions or anything to go by and I thought about trying to find some online, but it's easy to ask you ladies.

Do I need to wait until they are sitting up before I put them in the SBS? How do I know when they are ready? My DS is about to outgrow the infant seat, so we won't be able to use the Double Snap N Go anymore. Are there any inserts or anything I should put around them to keep them in?

    TIA for any input!

Most SBS strollers have 5 point harness, and recline, so even if they are not completely efficient at sitting up they could still go in the regular stroller! :good:

We started using ours at 5 weeks! They did slump down, and it didn't look that comfy, but they seemed to like it OK. At 4 months I'd say you're definitely fine. It's just for the jogging strollers (if you're actually planning to jog) that you need to wait till they have good upper-body control.

If they are slumping a lot or need some extra cushioning, you can use rolled-up towels or baby blankets. It's not like a carseat where you have to follow lots of rules -- just do whatever makes sense. :)

If it's just a 3 point harness, make sure it is reclining so they don't fall forward. We started using our tandem (w/out carriers) at 4 months.

Great!! That just means I need to get it out of the garage and dust it off! I think they'll love walks in that, since they will really be able to see!! Plus, it doesn't seem as cumbersome as the Snap N Go.

We started using our SBS for walks around the neighborhood at about 2 months. We put one of those Kiddopotamus Snuzzler head and neck support thingies in each seat which helps provides a little structure and support, in addition to using the seat harness and taking advantage of the recline feature. Works out well and they look so comfy!

We used ours pretty much right away! We started out with a used graco SBS and it reclined so we used it that way until about 3 months, then I made it upright.

We started using our combi sbs at 3 months when we moved them from the infant seats to the convertible seats. As pp's said as long as it reclines you can use it right away! :)

we started using our phil & teds with 5 point harness at about 5 weeks in regular toddler mode (as opposed to swaddling them and sticking them together in the bassinet). they had really good head control very early. i just reclined the seats as much as possible.
