Wow...I have finally found a minute to sit down and type a post! I have really missed this place over the last 5 months...and wonder how you all manage to find time to read or post on forums after you have multiples. With 4 kids, I have no time...I have missed you all.....but lets get to the point here..my sleep is valuable!:)

Can you tell me when your twins started to sleep through the night?

When did your twins start holding their own bottles? (if your baby is formula fed)

Does your baby laugh? I have one that laughs ALOT...almost like she is faking it, but it is really cute. I have heard that babies don't really laugh until they are @8mths? But both my babies are tickelish....

Has anyone here gave their babies jar food before 6 months? Or is that the prime time to start? I Can't remember all of this from my previous 2...i feel like i have a case of amnesia since the twins were born.lol

THanks....If you can let me know what else I have to look forward too in the near future that would be great too!!:)

    Hi Juli!!
It will certainly get easier soon!!

My girls started sleeping through the night at 4.5 months when I did CIO with one of them.
Held their own bottles around 9.5 months.
I don't remember when they were "laughing" but I documented that they started giggling at 3.5 months.
Our pedi recommended starting solids at 4 months. We did cereal first, and then moved on to veggies and then fruits.

Six months was a big turning point for me. They were sleeping great at night, started taking naps at the same time everyday, were more interactive so it got fun!!

Mine were sleeping through 12-13 hours at 3 months, and we never had to CIO to get this. Once they did this, we started 2 2 hour naps a day, and that is also when I registered and stared posting on TS.

One held his bottle at about 7 1/2 months, the other about 9 months.

I don't remember laughing, but there is a difference between induced laughter and spontaneous.

We started cereal at 4 months, and jarred bananas about 2 weeks later, then another 2 weeks or so added other veggies and fruit.

Hi Juli! Welcome back. Here are my answers -

Can you tell me when your twins started to sleep through the night?
MIne slept through at 3 months and 1 week.

When did your twins start holding their own bottles? (if your baby is formula fed)
Mine are formula fed and don't hold their bottles. They are starting to grab at that - but not close to holding them themselves

Does your baby laugh? I have one that laughs ALOT...almost like she is faking it, but it is really cute. I have heard that babies don't really laugh until they are @8mths? But both my babies are tickelish....
One of mine giggles when I do something funny to her - but the other one only smiles a lot.

Has anyone here gave their babies jar food before 6 months? Or is that the prime time to start? I Can't remember all of this from my previous 2...i feel like i have a case of amnesia since the twins were born.lol
My ped said anywhere from 4-6 months to start. We started cereal at 4 months just so they could learn about the spoon. Now they eat their bottles plus one serving of cereal and one serving of sweet potatoes. It's a pain to do the jar food - my babies are only awake for about 1.5 hrs at a time so I'm not in a huge rush to get moving on all the foods. My doc said to give each food (potatoes) for at least 3 days to make sure they weren't allergic, then I could move on to another food. But I've been giving them sweet potatoes for about 2 weeks. He said to do 5 veggies then move to fruits (sometimes they won't eat veggies after fruits b/c they're sweet).

Good luck! I can't imagine have two others w/ the twins!!!!

I guess it depends what you mean by "sleeping through the night". Evan started sleeping from about 7 until 5 or 6 at 3 months (without eating) and James did the same at about 3.5 months. We had several blissful weeks before teething set in and now we're up a lot at night (not feeding, just soothing James).

When did your twins start holding their own bottles? (if your baby is formula fed)
My babies are 8 month and they can't hold their own bottles. I wish!

Does your baby laugh? I have one that laughs ALOT...almost like she is faking it, but it is really cute. I have heard that babies don't really laugh until they are @8mths? But both my babies are tickelish....
James laughed around 4 or 5 months and Evan was about 6 months. They sort of laughed before this, but I'm talking about real, hearty laughs in response to tickles or peek-a-boo.

Has anyone here gave their babies jar food before 6 months?
I did cereal at 5 months but I didn't start fruit and veggies until 6 months. We did yogurt at about 7.5 months and I'm trying to start meat now (8 months) but Evan hates it. We're doing a bit of finger food now (grated cheese, rice puffs, peas, Mum Mums) - James loves feeding himself, Evan doesn't do it yet.

Hi Juli - Mine started sleeping in long stints around 2.5 months, but that came with the move from the PNP in our room to their cribs in the nursery. DS still gets up about every other night for a 3a feeding. Any time someone get's up that's not 3a for a midnight snack we try and let them CIO.

As far as laughing goes, we get huge smiles and giggles from our little ones now and they are almost 4mos. Alex grunted from day 1 and had taken on a whole bevy of sounds including raspberries, pop sounds and a repeatable Agoo, we say it, then he says it. We were worried about Allie because she wasn't keeping up, but last week she started with her sounds. Instead of short bursts, she almost sings. 4-6 second long AYYYYYYYY's. This is age seems to be so much fun because they do new things every day! Enjoy your little gigglers! :yahoo:

Hi there! Know what you mean about time to post! I wasn't really able to do it until I went back to work full time!!! My girls have just STARTED to sleep through the night. They were sleeping from about eight pm until 4am at 3 mos. - but then I seperated from the girls Dad, moved, put the girls in daycare, and started working full time, all in a months time - bye bye sleeping through! then of course the teething didn't help. Carley has been sleeping from 6:30pm until 4am for about 2 weeks now. Natalie went from waking twice a night to 6:30 - 4 am - in just the past 2 nights! at 4am I give them 6oz - they are hungry!! and they eat and go back to sleep until 5:30 - 6:30 am.
I started them on rice cereal at 4 mos. then every 2 weeks introduced something else - fruits / veggies.
They started holding their bottle about 5 mos. or so. I love this as it's alot easier on me.
I'm going to say that my girls started laughing around 4-5mos. I mean realy laughing - meaning to etc. It's the neatest sound EVER!
Now they squeal and I can get them to really belly laugh and I just fall in love all over just listening to it. I want to record it and bring it to work with me!!!!

Starting sleeping from 7:30 until 5 (with a 10p dreamfed) at about 6 1/2 months. At 8 months they started sleeping straight through from 7:30 until about 5 (6 on weekends).

When did your twins start holding their own bottles? (if your baby is formula fed)
Just prior to 7 1/2 months

Does your baby laugh? I have one that laughs ALOT...almost like she is faking it, but it is really cute. I have heard that babies don't really laugh until they are @8mths? But both my babies are tickelish...
Good laughing at about 7 months...now they'll giggle at each other for no reason, laugh at mommy, laugh when tickled, and bouncing a ball is one of the funniest things ever.

Has anyone here gave their babies jar food before 6 months? Or is that the prime time to start? I Can't remember all of this from my previous 2...i feel like i have a case of amnesia since the twins were born.lol
Started rice cereal every couple of days at about 4 months just to get used to the spoon. About 4 1/2 months started rice cereal every evening for dinner. Close to 5 months started adding in fruits/veggies. At 7 months started adding the stage 2 "dinners," the ones with meat. I would note that there is no difference, besides the size of the container (get more with stage 2), between stage 1 and stage 2 foods. When you start giving solids, just make sure you get single ingredient stage 2 foods...I think better bang for your buck, especially since they'll eat half a jar between the two up to sharing a jar in the beginning.
