Hi....My kids are in regular car seats now but not able to walk on their own yet. I was wondering what some of you ladies do if you need to run errands. Do you always use the stroller or do you have another system.

I use the stroller, but I don't do any major shopping with them. I will run to Target or Costco, etc. for a few things, but DH and I do major shopping alone.

Mine are walking, but there is no way they can walk in stores nor would I let them at this point.

I use the stroller most of the time, but I have put one of them in the baby seat part of the shopping carriage and one in the main part of the carriage. Does that make sense? Once I start piling the stuff in, the baby in the main part is occupied with playing with the merchandise!

Sometimes the stroller, or the shopping cart. I try to limit the errands I need to run when I am alone with the girls. Most of the time my DP and I are together or we go alone.

I just carried them both at that age unless it was a long errand. To pay bills or run into the bank, I did the double football.

I do the stroller, or I just started putting them both in the shopping cart basket. You can't put a lot of stuff in the cart that way, but if I only need a few things, it works. I felt like I was doing something "bad" the first time I put them in the cart, because it says not to do it.

    I agree w/ some others. . . I either didn't take them or I used a stroller.

I either used my stroller and pulled the cart or put them in the cart if they had a double cart available (like at Kroger or Sams). At Target I still push the stroller and pull the cart or just put things under the stroller if I don't need alot. Now I do most of my errands while they are at preschool once a week.

I used my stroller. My double jeep tandem was perfect for that period of time. It has a huge basket on the bottom for a good amt of groceries or pkg I am mailing etc. And trays for their sippys/snacks. And when they were that little, they could both fit into the seat part of a shopping cart. I put both their legs in one leghole each and put the seat belt across both.

Yes, i got A MILLION ppl it seemed telling me how unsafe it is to put one in the basket part of the cart. In fact once in walmart someone reported me for having Josh in the basket part! He was really not behaving but I had to get some shopping done. Like it was illegal or something. Walmart now has those 5pt upright seats kitty corner that attach to shopping carts that I LOVE.

    k done. HTH

My kids are great walkers at 2 and 1/2, but we still use the stroller when I take them out for errands by myself. Still seems like the safest option and most efficient--I can get my hands free to shop, carry stuff in the stroller basket, etc. They are so accustomed to the stroller they don't fuss--though when I've only got one at a time it is a big treat to walk holding Mommy's hand, sit in the shopping cart seat, etc.

i would sometimes put one in the seat of the cart and wear the other in a sling. but now that they are bigger and heavier i just use the stroller.

I use the stroller or I just opt to run my errands when DH is home and able to watch them.

For general errands, I have a double umbrella stroller that is always in the trunk of my vehicle. With groceries, Wal-Mart, etc., I use the carts with dual seats. I have also used the stroller with a hand basket when I was just getting a few things or put one in the cart seat and the other in a Snugli (which also lives in the trunk).

Same as many others- I either use the stroller or wait for DH to stay with them- I am not tempted at all to try the double-cart jobbie.
