I just got a strange call for my 8 week old saying they needed to verify some information about her. They wouldn't talk to me about anything until I gave them Emily's date of birth and our address. Obviously I didn't give them any info, but they did say they were from a prescription company. I guess I was wondering if anyone else got a strange call before you got your RSV vaccine approved. BTW - she's never had any prescriptions filled, so its just a little strange for me.

    TIA!!!

My doctor's office called the insurance company to verify the shot would be covered, no one ever called us. Except the insurance company 4 shots later to sy they were not longer covered.

I did talk to the Dr. office about it and they called the insurance company to verify that we would qualify.

Yep, we got a call from the pharmacy first before the vaccine was ever mentioned to us by the doctor. The pharmacy left a message sounding like a medical collection agency, Max had open heart surgery at 8-weeks old that ran $158,000.00 and we have some huge copays that we are paying on a payment plan so we were very upset until we figured out what was going on. I called the doctor's office and was like what is this all about. They said they wanted to see if it was covered before discussing it with parents. At our 6 month appt. last week the doctor admitted they screwed up by handling it this way.

I got a call from the prescription company last year to confirm our information before they shipped the RSV vaccine. It sounds similar to the call you got. I refused to provide any info, though. I'm a privacy freak, so I think I made their process a lot harder!

I got a similar call from a prescription company before they sent out the vaccine.

Do you remember what company they said that they were from?

I got a call from the pharmacy...the doctor had told me they would be getting the vaccine beforehand though. The pharmacy calls me every month before they ship the shot off to the dr. office. =)

I think it was choice scripts or something like that. I was at the ped yesterday and it turns out it was the company calling to verify info on the twins. So they are approved. Now the only problem is going to be having a new ped in CA order it for us before we get there so we don't have a lapse in between shots.
