We had an absolute nightmare of a time at the Ped yesterday ... I was doing shots solo ... I usually have my Mom or husband or someone come with me on a shot day but didn't have anyone to go yesterday ... and the girls are so stranger anxious that to have taken a sitter or someone (the ONLY people they are OK with is me, my DH, and my Mom) would have made matters worse. My Ped said she had never heard a baby sound so panicked before! Meredith had a total meltdown when the nurse took her and put her on the scale. This was BEFORE the shots ... and it took me about 20 minutes to calm them both down ... you know, M freaks out ... it makes H freak out ... which makes M freak out even more yada yada ...

Anyway, long story short ... they had their 7th RSV vac and then we had a fit of a time getting them to sleep ... they WENT to sleep fine at 6:45 but woke at 11 and I was up with one or the other until 1:30 ... then again 5:30 until 6:30 then they actually slept until 7:30. They both STTN the two nights before that (which is not every night ... but they generally wake once ... if at all ... these days) ... OH, and when they woke, they WOULD NOT nurse! Then, I finally got Hannah to nurse after a severe meltdown when her Dad tried to go and get her ... it took me half an hour to calm her down ... and I nursed her and rocked her for almost an hour and she STILL wouldn't fall asleep ... it was like the RSV vac was a shot of espresso! Oh, I hope that was JUST last night and tonight they will go back to my "painstakingly sleep trained" babies tonight!

OK, that wasn't short ... sorry! Anyone else experience this?

Sounds like a rough night. We've never had a similar experience after the vaccine. Usually mine tend to sleep a little more. Do you give them Tylenol for 24 hours after shots? Their thighs might be hurting them.

Same story here. I agree with giving them tylenol, that always seems to help my girls. I hope you have a better day!

Yikes!! Sorry you had such a hard night. We go friday for our final shot for RSV(YEA!!!) I'm glad this is our last one!!
We haven't(knock on wood) had any problems at night after the shot but, our babies seem to get sick with colds after them. It never fails everytime we've gotten them it happens. We always use Ibup. instead of tylenol it seems to help them much better.
    Hope tonight goes better!
    Take care.

I swear the RSV vac. was the cause of our colic experience and I am not kidding. The day they got it they started screaming and never stopped until the day before their next shot... again they cried for 28 days straight!! Grr... we didnt get shot three, it was June and we were sure we wouldnt need it, and we didnt.
