My girls had their first round of RSV shots as well as their 4 month vaccinations today and they are so sore and fussy. We've been giving them tylenol around the clock and they seem to be more comfortable on their bellies. Any other suggestions to get through this?

Anyone here babies just get the RSV shot alone? I'm wondering if I should be prepared for this every month they get the shot.

Mine were incredibly fussy after the four month shots. We gave Tylenol, did a few lukewarm baths to bring down fevers, and just plain cuddled for about 24 hours.

Our pediatrician's office said they won't have any RSV information until after Nov 1, which seems really late to me. How odd that yours started now and mine waits until later. I wonder if it's the region of the country? I'm in the southwest...

We haven't started yet. I usually will start getting the phone calls in the next wk and start getting ins figured out and appts set up. So we'll see. I always thought it started in Oct.

Sorry they are not feeling so well!

It is probably from the 4 month shots, not the RSV. With the RSV shot, mine fussed when the needle went in (of course) but had no fever or lingering achiness/fussiness from RSV.

I never did go alone though, I work FT from home and have a nanny here during the day so we always took them together on my lunch hour.

we had the same kind of extreme fussiness after the 4 month shots - i think it took the whole weekend for them to get over it.

RSV season varies depending on the area of the country in which you live.

My two got the RSV shot last winter and we would just go in for the RSV shot. I did give Tylenol about 30 min. before the appt. and they would both cry after the shot. I don't remember them being fussy the rest of the day. You are lucky you are getting them. My two don't qualify this year.

The fussiness is probably from the 4 months shots. The RSV vaccine if it is the Synagis should not cause any type of reaction as least that is what I think the Pulmonologist told us. I think because it is a "killed" vaccine there shouldnt be any reaction (dont hold me to that). Ours never had any problems with it except for the initial injection of the needle.
