Is anyone else suffering round ligament torture? I'm 29 weeks, 5 days, and I get severe pain a couple of times a day. It brings tears to my eyes and I have to practice deep breathing to keep from screaming. It usually happens when I'm lying down, and the only way to get it to stop is to stand up and stretch a bit. Getting from lying to standing is excruciating! Is it just me???

No, you're not the only one! It can be awful!

There's a couple of things I have found help me a LOT. In fact, I'm having less ligament pain with twins than I had with my previous singleton pregnancies.

This one you can do yourself (With a little help from someone sturdy): An inversion. There's instructions and a video at the link--(There are some medical reasons you might want to avoid it, so you can ask your doctor if you're not sure.) It really takes the pressure off those ligaments.

Another thing that has helped me a lot has been getting my chiropractor to use the Webster technique--which is basically a gentle adjustment/relaxation of those ligaments. It's like getting the knots out of your back in a back rub.

Both of these are actually used to help position the babies for labor, but whether that works or not (and I sure hope it does!) they have made me soooo much more comfortable.

I have the same thing. Mostly when I lay down too. Hope you (and us all LOL) feel better soon.
I find that getting up and stretching helps too but I also agree, the getting up part is tough. LOL

you are not alone. It does gett better though and will come in waves so you will get a break from it. Hang in there. :hug99:

I'm so sorry! That can be pure hell. I heard "use a hot compress" and "use a cold compress" but there are days when nothing helps!Hang in there. . .
