rough delivery .... can anyone relate?

Hello!

Went in for a second induction this week... it was a success but really rather scary.

Started out with stripping the membranes and pitocin- worked wonders this time around.

Developed HELLP Syndrome / Preclampsia right before delivery (at 39 plus weeks) - low platelet count-
had to be in a magnesium sulfate induced coma before and after delivery for 24 hours... pushing was tough and had to resort to suction because of the difficulty.

Good news though Baby boys Chase & Max are fine and here!

I was induced for a couple different reasons but my induction didn't take very well since my body was not ready to have the babies. I also ended up coming down with HELLP after 18 of labor and we had to do a semi-emergency c-section. When my OB told me I started crying. She thought it was because I had to have a c-section but it was actually because I was going to have to take magnesium sulfate. I had heard such bad things about that stuff and it was all true. Bleegh! I totally understand how you feel about dealing with that.

I'm so glad you got to have a vaginal delivery so that you will have an easier recovery and that the boys are doing well. Everyone's delivery is different and there are very few that turn out perfect. I'm sorry yours had those rough spots, especially with the mag. Now that everything is calming down, enjoy those boys!

Congratulation on the birth of your babies. It is great that you didn't have to have a c-section, but wow does that coma stuff sound intense. Forgive my ignorance but what is HELLP syndrome.

 

l sWow, that sounds like quite a trial! Glad all is well. What were your boys' birthweights? Congratulations and we'll see you on First Year board!

 

Wow, you really did have quite a trek to getting those boys here, but CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I was induced twice with my singleton ds. Those babies, they just don't like to play by our rules, do they?

Extremely torn between breastfeeding and bottle feeding- any thoughts here?

Breastfeeding !!!! No bottles to clean or wash, make, or warm up! I plan to do it this time as long as I can!!!
