    Hi everybody,

I'm Lynn (a married, stay-at-home, aspiring writer sort, 33yr old, mom to 1 toddler and expectant mom of :itwins: )

I've been a lurker from time to time since we found out we were pg w/ twins back in September but I haven't actually gotten around to posting or saying hi, so now I am :)

My dh and I have a little boy who will just have turned 3 when our girls arrive (hopefully!! :good: fingers crossed!).

We found out at 7 weeks that I was expecting identical twins (monochorionic/diamniotic) but had to wait for my 23 week scan to reallly see my babies. Dh & I were both rather surprised it was girls as we were both waaaaay off on our 'hunches'.

We managed to make it to week 25 now, nearly 26- and so far, all has gone really well and we're sooooo grateful for that.

I guess that's about it for now.

Thanks for letting me join in :wavey:

:sign0016: to TS and Congrats on your twin pregnancy. I have mono-di twins, and that is not a 100% indicator that they are identical. Congratulations for making it to 26 weeks! I hope the remainder of your pregnancy is uneventful and is as enjoyable as can be.

kyrstyn-- I was "diagnosed" as having id twins at 7 weeks they said they could tell from the u/s. there's no hereditary reasons for our twins- and from the u/s I had at 23wks they sure seem to be id girls... didn't know you could have mono/di and not be id-- other than a fraternal twin fusing placentas kind of thing.

my son is handling it okay I guess. he's just pretty clueless right now. we talk about his baby sisters and how he'll be a big brother, try reading him books but I think he's in for a world of shock once they're here (but then, so are we!)

as for names-- ha! I should be so lucky. I actually have a set I'm rather settled on, but dh is being stubborn. he's into the name them all w/ the same initial thing- so our son is a D, and he wants our twins to be D's, too-- this makes me groan and sigh, quite often actually. my compromise is that one of the twins can have a D name but the other won't. I think I've got a satisfactory pairing but dh probably won't give in until she's actually here. (he's as stubborn as I am sometimes,).

thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I'm sure I'll be picking your brains in no time!

Congrats!!! We'll be right there with you in the world of shock!!! My husband was very stubborn about names for a long time, but now that our boys are almost here, he is starting to compromise (plus, I'm trying my best to make him feel guilty for even competing w/ me in my "state" ha ha... )
Best of luck to you, ~Erin
