Is there anything I can do to encourage rolling? My babies are 6 months old on the 15th, were born at 34 weeks 5 days. We do plenty of tummy time, they can push up on their arms with straight arms, heads lifted up high. We "help" them roll by pulling a leg or arm over, and letting them do the rest. They have yet to do it on their own. What else can I do to help them with this? Any exercises, or activities that would help them learn how to do this? It seems they are strong enough...

Do they like tummy time? Mine did not like being on their belly, so placing them down on their bellies motivated them to try to roll over.

I'd ask your pedi for suggestions at their 6 month WBV.

Both of mine will roll toward a favorite toy. I put it just out of reach, so that the only way they can reach it is to roll on their side. This even works with DD who has no desire to roll on her own. You could also--once they are on their side--move the toy again so now tehey have to roll a little bit onto their tummy to reach it.

The playmats are really great for this, because no matter where you put them, there is a fun toy just out of reach.

Yep, tummy time for them to work on the skill is essential. I would sit with them and just help them roll. Show them how to tuck their arms. They will get there.

My twins didn't do much rolling over, mainly tummy time and then went on to army crawl, if you are worried talk to your ped the next time you see him.

Are they starting the rocking at all to 'get' to a roll?

Only one of my twins rolls over. My chunkier one has to be put down in a certain position in order to do that. I talked to my pedi and they checked and checked him again. There is nothing wrong with him. He is just a "very content" baby.
My pedi also told me to excersise with him.

my little girl is starting to rock/arch her back/bring her knees up briefly when on her belly. My little boy, no matter what toy I put out for him, or how much I try and make him laugh and head towards me, is totally happy laying on his back, or his belly, talking to himself/his hands.

We will just keep trying--I know it isn't too late yet, developmentally, especially w/ adjusted ages, just trying to keep them on track. Anyways, gives me more time to babyproof :)

My girls will be 6 months on the 14th! They will roll from belly to back (because they hate being on their tummies), but not from back to belly (because they hate being on their tummies  ) They also are not falling for the "favorite toy just out of reach trick", so no advice, just commisseration. You're not alone!

Don't sweat it too much. All babies are different. Your kiddos were born early and need a little extra time. They'll get it. My Noah was rolling over around 6 months or maybe even after that. Luke is only now starting to roll over now at 10 months. He was actually sitting independently, butt scooting and pulling himself to stand before he figured out how to roll over. Goofy little thing.

My girls are 9 months and one of mine still doesn't roll over, the other one is about to walk. We took our one to PT to see if she was developmentaly behind and they said not to worry with it. She will do it when she is ready, she is also a little chunkyer than my other one.

    I wouldn't sweat it at 6 months.

I agree with letting them spend as much time on the floor as possible. On their backs & on their tummies both. Other than that, I think it's just a waiting game, one day they will just flip themselves over like they've been doing it forever. But if you are concerned, I would talk to your doctor, he/she might can give you some advice on what might help.

Hilarious. I was so worried. and both rolled over this morning. As if to say, "see mom, we are fine!"

On their 6 month birthday, no less :)
