My DD is a great sleeper. Lately her brother wakes her up or she hears something, or just goes through he sleep cycle and when she is only half awake she will roll over. Then she can't roll back and so she wakes the rest of the way up and won't go back to sleep. She has always been a great sleeper and until a week ago was taking 3 naps a day 2 hours each. The last few days she is only sleeping 30-45 min most of the time and then has to take like 5 naps because she is too tired. I don't know what to do so she will sleep longer. She is fine at night and will sleep 10-11 hours no problem.

    Hi Melissa,

When my babies started rolling one way, and would wake up crying because they couldn't get back over, I showed them how for the first few times, and then they were on their own. They will eventually figure it out, or go back to sleep on the side they rolled onto!

My babies are younger, but I"m dealing with that as well. My DS who was sttn was up 3 times last night b/c he rolled over and couldnt' get back, and in all the ocmmotion woke DD (my finicky sleeper anyway) and she was up off and on from 2-5. I feel like a zombie this morning, I don't know how I did it in those early early days.

Oh, that is so frustrating! I'd just try to give plenty of "lessons" in how to roll back during the day, and hopefully it will click before too long.

That is the hope. She is so good to roll but she can't roll back. I show her lots but I don't think she want to roll back. She wakes happy but It is not a long enough nap.

i remember this frustration too...right around where you are. the good news is that they figure it out soon. i didn't even have to teach ds to roll back to his belly...he just started doing it himself after a week or two. if you can hang in there, he will be back to sleeping like a champ in no time. like pp mentioned...they either figure it out or eventually fall asleep where they are. GL!

I feel your pain. I'm right there with you. My one son instantly rolls to his stomach in the crib but then can't turn himself back. He gets himself wedged against the edge of the crib, then an arm goes through the slat, he bumps his head and then he is awake!!! He has been doing this now for about the past 4-5 days. I'm hoping he soon learns to roll the other way. I guess this is just a new phase that we have to get through!
