is there a 'checklist' of sorts to determine if my kiddos are 'on task?'
they will be 4 months next week and don't roll over or sit up. they need to be propped up and then still just slump over. is this normal bc they were early?

Mine were almost 5 months before they rolled over, and 7 months before they sat on their own, so I think it's normal. FWIW, DS walked at 12 months and DD at 13, so they were right on track.

There is a milestones chart here in the First Year Handbook that shows when other babies here on TS hit their milestones. Hope that helps!

Rolling over is anywhere from 3/4 months for some babies and not until 7/8 months for some babies. Sitting unsupported is usually closer to 7-10 months old.

My babies are nearly 7 months and they roll all over the place but can't sit unsupported yet. My dd can almost, she topples to the sides, but my ds can't he still slumps forward most of the time.

My babies are 7 months (1 month early) and started to roll over at 5 months and just started to sit by themselves a couple of weeks ago. Emily is rolling all the time but Sara doesn't really roll over (although she can do it) but she sits better by herself. Emily is trying to crawl and was up on her knees a few days ago.

My boys(36 weekers) starting rolling between 4-5 months and didn't sit unsupported for any period of time until they were 8 months old. My baby girl started rolling between 3-3.5 months and sat unsupported at 5 months...I just say this so you know there is a wide range of "normal."

There is a very wide range of normal. If you are concerned I would talk to your DR. My boys are 9 months(7 corrected) old. We see PT and OT once a week. My little guy just started rolling three weeks ago and can sit only assisted. My bigger guy has been rolling for months, just started crawling two days ago but still can't sit up on his own for more than a few seconds. My physio isn't overly concerned because they are improving in their skills every week. Hang in there, once they start moving you will wish they would have stayed put longer :)
