So I have to brag a little, and send out a SHOUT of encouragement to all our twin mommies!!

Yesterday, all by my little lonesome, I packed up my "fearsome foursome" (7 yr old son, almost 3 yr old daughter and 3 month old twins), into the Yukon, drove 45 mins to the nearest big city, went to Arby's for lunch, target for some shopping....where the babies needed a bottle while we wandered around, tj maxx for some more shopping, mcd's drive thru for bribery milkshakes for the older kids (and a congrats treat for mom), and then 45 mins back!

Yep, it was hectic with 4 kids, yep, I was tired when I got home, but you know what?!? I DID IT! And you can do it too!!

This is the second shopping trip I did with all 4 kids myself, and it's already getting easier to do! And it was nearly 90 degree's outside so I was sweating like a pig while doing it, surely I lost a few pounds too!

For all you who don't think you can, you CAN! Just get out and do it! Pack a full bag for the kidlet's and GO! :D

    Very cool! Hooray!

I must admit though…I was hoping you meant a loooooooooooong road trip.

I really want to go visit my sister. Her husband has deployed and she’s all alone with her brand new babygirl, BUT it is a 27 hour drive from California to Missouri. It would be just me, DS (7 yrs) and the twins. We’d take a couple days to do it, but it sure seems pretty impossible no matter how many stops we make, ya know?

    *sigh*

Congrats on getting out of the house!

Magpie, now is the time to make that trip. The babies are at a great age for driving because they aren't mobile yet and haven't quite reached the age where they cry because they want to get somewhere and don't quite have the ability to do so. It will take you a few days but, if you don't have any other responsibilities, then go for it.

Magpie I agree you need to go ahead and go, the babies will sleep most of the way!!

We do a 36 hr drive to my parents place pretty much every summer, we went when our first son was about 6 months old, and he was just old enough to get tired of sitting in the vehicle and did some crying! But younger than that the babies will sleep a good bit of the way!! Go for it! :D

CONGRATULATIONS! Looks like my twins are just about the same age (born 2/25/09) and we are no where near spending a full day out and about and I don't even have other kids. We even decided to stay at home this weeked rather than braving a 9 hour drive to my brother in law's wedding. We sent daddy on a plane.

I think we could have handled the trip if it weren't for logistical issues like sterilizing nipples. I would need to plan on 20 nipples a day. The disposables are really expensive especially if you don't know if the kids will take them.
