Road trip question

In a few weeks we will be taking the boys on a 4 hour road trip for a family reunion at my grandma's house. What do you all do about the sleeping situation when traveling? They will be 6 months old(almost). She has a VERY old crib but I wouldn't dare to put them in there even though I slept in it until I was like 6 yrs old :lol: . We do have two pack n plays but the room we are staying in is TINY. What do we do?

 

I would probably just bring one pnp and use it. The drive part will be easy compared to getting them to sleep well somewhere else. Do you have to be there more than one night?

 

We brought their bouncy chairs, they sleep in them pretty well. Or put them on the floor on a blanket

 

I took my kids to Vegas in February and I brought the pnp and their papassan chairs. My dd slept in her chair the whole time. Ds slept in the pnp.

 

When we travelled with the girls at 5 1/2 months we had 1 pnp with us, but ended up having them sleep between us on an airmatress because it was most convenient (they stayed up late every night partying down with the relatives so they went to sleep pretty well). They did nap in the pnp together during the day.

ETA: That trip included a 4 hour drive (after a 3 hour airplane ride) and they slept almost the entire way. We put them in the car right after a bottle, stopped about half-way to change some diapers and stretch our legs, and got to the destination just in time for another bottle. Have fun!!!

 

I would either take both pnps or expect one of the babies to sleep with you. They're too big at that age to share a pnp if they aren't used to it. Have fun!
