Okay so last night in the middle of the night I work up with the worst pain in the ribs. It went away after I lifted my arm above my head and opened up the chest a little bit but then about two hours later the same thing. Are the boys working out on my ribs? Have you guys had this happen?

Wish I could say it will get better . . . it may, but that hasn't been the case for me. I told my dh about 2 months ago that I have like a permanent gas bubble on my upper left side by my ribs. Just the other day I told him instead of a gas bubble it's like a knife. For me, at least I know why . . . my girl is head up and her head and butt are as close to my heart and jammed into my ribcage as possible. I get relief here and there if she shifts a bit. If I just can't stand it, I lay on my right side (since she's on my left) and it helps. Standing and walking around are good and lying down, but the nights have gotten rougher and rougher. I used to shift between right and left side to sleep, but now it's hard to be comfortable for long on my left because of her position. I am at the point where it is not very comfortable to sit in most any position and often while sitting the more I stretch out and give her space the more she takes. I told dh yesterday that I don't know how much more driving I can do as I have the driver's seat so reclined to be comfortable that I am worried that I am losing control and I don't want to feel unsafe for me, the babies or ds in the back seat. Anyway, sorry to be a "downer." My ds was in my ribs some but it came and went and he had no "womb-mate." Just to be safe, plan for it to get worse and then be pleasantly surprised if it's not . . . I would also think if your boys settle into head down position, it may be better. Occasionally I feel my boy's feet on my right ribs, but nothing like her with her head on my left.

    hang in there!

I had that pain pretty badly- turns out it was B's head up there. However, in case your dr. hasn't already checked you out for it, be sure to mention it- Rib pain can be a sign of liver pain, which can be a complication from Pre-E. With twins, I'm willing to bet it's just their location, but definitely bring it up to your dr to be safe.

The only relief I got was to put my feet up, put a pillow under my back and stretch myself as "open" and straight as possible!! Hang in there- you're doing great! :)

You are not alone. I feel as if my ribs are going to snap! I can't wait till my husband is here to hold me...that should help a little. (I hope!)

I had a stretch of time when one of the babies was so crammed under my rib cage that it felt like I had a broken rib. It hurt so bad I couldn't sleep or sit or move or anything. It was awful. It helped temporarily to do the cat stretch, but the baby would just move right back. It has gotten better pain wise. Now I get discomfort here and there with the occassional pain from someone getting a little too comfy. They are still breech with both heads in my ribs and the occassional foot or whatever so right now it is harder to breath than painful. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks guys! I stink for all of us but it's nice to know I'm not the only one or crazy. Last night was a much better sleep but I was so tried from a baby shower at work that they couldn't been hanging on my ribs and I might not have noticed!!!!! :a_smil09:
