As many of you may or may not know, my girls are terrible sleepers and it really is all my fault. I am almost finished with a sleeping book for toddlers in which she suggests a bedtime chart. However, I am ignorant to this idea. I have my white posterboard, colorful marker, stickers, etc. But do I let them do the "check-off"?

Here is an example from the book:

    have snack
    put on pjs
    brush teeth
    go potty
    read three books
    sing nighttime song
    turn on night light
    kisses, hugs,
    sonya goes to sleep

Do I just put it there for them to see. I am clueless. I can just see Lauren now protesting to get out of the bed to put a sticker beside turn on night light.

We have used this one in the past. . Or you can go here and play around and you can make up your own chart.

We used these for a bit and then I forgot one week to print them off and Brandon was asking me where his list was... Worth a shot. You can also pick up reward stickers at the dollar store. I let then put a stick for each item them completed.

    Good Luck

Hmmm. I just made a sticker chart and hung it outside of their bedroom. If they stayed in their bed all night, they got to put a sticker on the chart next to their name and pick a treat out of the jar on top of the fridge. The hardest part was when one did and one didnt. Talk about the meltdown of meltdowns. :gah:

Are they putting stickers beside the things they do? If that is the case, then I would definitely let them pick out the stickers and stick it beside the things they've done..I know my girls would love that..and just explain that you will put the stickers on the go to sleep one after they go to sleep(maybe a mommy sticker that's different from theirs)...then they have something to look forward to in the morning. If it is a check off system, then I would probably do that just because my girls would never be able to draw a check and it would drive me batty.

We did something similar to that with my son and we just waited until everything was done and then checked off all at once.

Please let us know how it turns out...I'm thinking of doing this as well.

They really work. First thing In the morning they boys would get up and make their bed and come find me for a sticker. They they ate brkfst and then brushed their teeth for a sticker, same for picking up their toys. For bedtime after they brushed their teeth for bed I let them put their sticker on but if they came out I pulled the sticker off and that was the end of it. If er made it through the whole week with all our stickers they got to get a treat!

    Yay for you Brandy!

It will work, really it will!! Stickers can be sooo rewarding. Unless your name is Nick or Alex...then you don't care about stickers :pardon:
