I just can't figure out DS. I know he's teething and it's making him fussier than normal, but lately I can't distract him from his discomfort. Normally I can get him interested in a toy or a game and he'll be happy, but now he'll play for a few minutes and then crawl to me and whine. He'll follow me around the room and whine, climbing up the safety gate if I leave and crying.

I don't think that this in itself is so abnormal, it's more what happened when my husband came home. DS had been whining and crying all day despite my best efforts so we both needed a break when DH came back. I went upstairs for about 15 minutes and DS was happy and playing with his daddy. But as soon as I came down and he saw me he started crying and crawled to the gate for me to pick him up.

So now it seems like I am the reason my baby is crying :( I just don't understand! Has anyone else deal with this?

Haven't dealt with that but I did have two fussy babies ALL DAY LONG today so I totally understand how you feel!
    Hope it gets better soon!

Happens to me all the time ... don't know what the deal is?! I always assume they are upset with me for leaving?? Who knows ...

My girls took turns being like this from about 9 months to about 15. It's one of those happy "phases". I gave my girls all the comfort they needed during this time, they were showing me they really needed me. I did get stuff done I needed to and there were times they would fuss/whine/cry but I did try and save things for nap time and try and spend as much time as possible with them.

Only one of mine does this... my DP says it's because he loves me soooo much that when he sees me, he can't stand to not be held by me... so he cries until I do pick him up. I that's a pretty accurate description of it. If I leave the room, he relaxes after a few moments of crying and will play nicely. But when I return, he freaks out again.

Thankfully, it's yet another "stage"... :)

[SIZE=10pt]Happens here all the time. Right now it's DS going through it.

He's completely fine if I'm not in the room ~ but as soon as he sees/hears me he starts fussing and trying to get to me.

I like to think/telling myself that he loves me SO much that he wants to be with me all the time. He'll out grow it ~ just like DD did ;)

I'm kinda taking advantage of the extra cuddle time though

    April :)

Yup, add me to the list!

They'll be screaming and crying hysterically and then I'm out of sight for a few moments and they're fine! And they'll happily be playing with DH or my mom and the moment they see me again....hysterics!

all the time! So sorry. It's is very frustarating when they seem more upset by us. It does end after a while.
