So when I was pregnant with my son, in the last month I got restless legs really bad. Im only 23 weeks pregnant with my twins and the restless legs are back and very strong. Has anyone else had this problem? Are there are home remedies or tricks that might help? This is driving me up the wall!

So far, the best thing I have found is to soak my legs in a warm (not hot!) tub right before bed, stretch them out and then get into a nice clean bed. I've even gotten up and done the bath in the middle of the night. I feel ya, it's miserable.

    Good luck!

No. I should, I battle restless legs even when I'm not pregnant. I just know that the warm water seems to help the muscles and nerves that are on over-load. Hope yout get some relief!

I have had this problem - also with leg cramping that kept me up for hours. I started taking three spoonfuls of Royal Jelly everyday, one in the morning and two in the evening and it stopped. I ran out of it and they came back, started again and they stopped, so I know that this works for me. No problems since. You should be able to get it from most health food stores, it comes in a tub and straight roayl jelly without the propolis and pollen tastes much better, just like honey. Hope this helps.

    Yes!!

The only thing that worked for me is to do somse streching exercises before bed and take some Tylenol or Motrin. if the streching didn't help.

So sorry. That is so uncomfortable. I hope you find something that works for you!

Royal Jelly is not recommended for those who are pregnant.

    I found this:
    QUOTE
People who are allergic to bees and honey and those who have asthma can face real dangers if they take royal jelly. Reactions ranging from bronchial spasms, skin irritations, and asthma attacks, to more severe anaphylactic shock, and even death, have been reported from its ingestion. As with many supplements, pregnant and breastfeeding women and small children should refrain from using royal jelly. To be on the safe side, anyone with a compromised immune system should also steer clear.

I used to get restless legs pretty bad.
What I would do is soak my feet in warm water and put lotion on them (dh can do this if its hard to reach). Then when I'm in bed I kneed my feet togther like they're massaging each other. I found that this relaxes them and me and I drift off to sleep. This way you can use the restless legs to your advantage.

It seems to me that if I get enough potasium I do not get RLS. I eat a banana a day and that seems to cure it. Sounds weird but it works!!

I'm not sure about go ask Alice (the link above), which indicates that Royal Jelly is harmful in pregnancy or to those with allergies - it is commonly used to boost fertility (among other things), so pregnancy and conception are one of the more common times to use it. You can Google Royal Jelly use during pregnancy or the best thing really is to ask your doctor. I know that my doctor has no problem with it, but again, best to ask your doctor I suppose. Good luck and I hope you feel better!
