At night my feet feel very puffy and swollen, and my legs are very restless. I feel like I can't stop moving them. Anybody have any tips?

I have had restless legs all through out this pregnancy and for me it just gets worse the further along I get! As the babies grow the more pressure they put on my leg nerves. Atleast that is what my doctor told me.
Have you tried elevating your feet? I use to elevate my feet about an hour before I went to bed and it worked sometimes. Or a pillow in between your legs? I am on and off with this. Also try sitting up and sleeping. That worked for me for a bit.
Other then that I don't know what else to tell you. I eventually get so tired that I crash no matter what and only wake up to go to the bathroom.

I had this Dr. Scholl footcreme with pepermint or something and it would give this tingling feeling so that I would feel it less. I would put it on before falling asleep. Also eating bananas and extra magnesium is supposed to help if I remember correctly. I also asked my dh to "massage" my legs. I had it badly both times ... heavy babies!

Someone told me it could be for lack of iron? Not sure if you have had your iron checked to see if you are anemic?

I noticed that Hylands (makes those homeopathic teething tablets) sells something for restless legs - just not sure if you can take it while pregnant?

:good: These three suggestions are what I did... sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. :( I hope they work for you.

I would try having someone massage your legs. When my niece stays overnight I can convince her to sometimes to rub my calves and it helps.

My doc told me to take a couple of Tums (for the calcium) before bed and I think it has helped. I also take a warm bath before bed and that seems to help relax the muscles. One word of advice: Don't Take Benedryl! It makes my restless legs a million times worse!

Hope you find something that helps! Restless legs are awful!!!

I can't believe I forgot that I went to accupuncture for Restless Legs too! I had about 3 treatments and it seems to have gone away for the most part. Every now and again I get a little restless but not like it was!
