Renting Dopplers while pregnant

I was going to do this while pregnant this time around. But since I found out that I'm carring twins, I'm wondering if this will even be really effective. At the doctor's office the other day they said that they usually (almost always) use the US machine with twins because it's just easier to find the heartbeats.

Has anyone else ever rented a doppler and used it with twins?

    TIA

I rented a dopplar and it has been a life saver for me!! I have had since I have been about 10-12 wks along....thought I would send it back once I felt the babies move regularly, but I still have it and won't send it back til they are born.

You can usually distinguish between the two heartbeats....early on you have to be on top of them to get them, so you know when you get two. As they get bigger though it gets harder. We have a hard time distinguishing between the two and plus we can get the hbs almost anywhere on my belly. So now, I only use it if I feel one of them is lacking in movement. As long as I feel them move a lot, I don't use it. I am glad I had it though, or I would of been calling my midwives all the time!!

It was a nice little thing for me and DH...DD rather just feel them move. We would always listen to them before we went to sleep. Now we feel them move and watch my belly move like Jello!!

Personally, it was totally worth it, and we got ours through Baby Beat.

I rented one during my twin pg. It just helped keep me sane. I had it until they were born. We used the Baby Beat too.

We have rented one for all but my first pregnancy. It was a big help after our losses and especially after we lost our triplet. I think I would have driven my OB nuts without one. Same thing as other post. If the baby/babies was/were moving then I wouldn't use it but it put my mind to rest when I needed it. It was also nice for the kids to hear the heartbeat once in a while, to associate that with the baby, just like their own heartbeats which they listen to with a stethoscope.

I have one from babybeat too - and I can regularly find both heartbeats - from about 11 weeks on...

I have used my doppler since 10 weeks and it has been wonderful! It was great when I couldn't yet feel the babies move, and I still use it now, especially on days when they are less active. In the beginning, it was difficult to distinguish the two, but once they were around 14 weeks or so, it was easier. We got ours from Dynamic Doppler, and in my opinion, it has been worth every penny!

I got mine from HearTones.com and got one with the digital readout which helps me tell whose h/b I am hearing. I will probably return it once movement is consistent, but it's really helped reassure me in the meantime! I've been able to hear their h/bs since 8w3d.
