This sounds like such a dumb question, even in my own head. But right now, I take my shower during the girls' morning nap - which starts anywhere from 9:45-10:30. What do you do when they don't take that morning nap anymore?

I either shower before they get up or sometimes I shower at night (this is usually in the summer when it is hot).

Sometimes I shower at night and sometimes I shower at nap time. I'm not a morning person, so getting up before them is not an option.

My friend always gets up and has a shower b4 her little gets up. Me personally i have a bath or shower at bedtime, i suspose it depends on how early you want to get up and get clean!! x

When they were in cribs, we never got them out until almost 8, so I always got up before them. Since then, I either get up first, or they watch a bit of tv while I shower in the morning.

I work from home 2 days a week and my girls are in bed until around 8-8:30...most of the time they are awake during that time, but they like playing in their cribs and it's never a problem leaving them in there (unless someone drops a toy...hehe). So, on those days, I have to be "working" by 7 am, so I get logged on, etc. and then take a shower. Most of the time though, I shower at night and just wash my hair in the morning and give it a quick blow dry. On my really lazy days, or if I have a lot of work to catch up on in the morning, I will wait until their npa time to shower.

Since they dropped their morning nap,
I either get up early enough to shower before I get them up (which is around 7)
or lately (since they have been having 2.5-3 hour afternoon naps) I have been working out then showering after that.

I will put on a Backyardigans that I have recorded and give them a snack. This keeps them occupied long enough, and sometimes longer, to get a shower in. It took me a while to get up the courage to shower while they were awake, but I feel ok with it as they are pretty well gated in to the den. It's always worked out fine.

I put mine in the Superyard with Sesame Street and their a.m. snack. They are very used to the Superyard as they've been going in there since they were 9 mos. old. I use it to get on the treadmill and then for showers. I will usually open in after I shower and let them have a little roaming room after that while I blow-dry and get dressed. I LOVE SUPERYARD!!!!

Mine are still on 2 naps now, but I take my shower at night for this reason. My DH leaves at 5:30am and I'm not getting up before he leaves to take one. I have to get my oldest DD to school by 9am and don't like leaving the house without a shower, so I take them at night. It took me awhile to get used to it, but I actually like being ready earlier than I used to be when I would have to wait to shower during the day. I will probably continue to do this when they go down to one nap as well, at least until they get a bit older then they can play with their older sister when she's not in school.

From the time I've had kids, I've always taken my shower before anybody gets up. I have horrendous bed head in the morning, so showering at night wouldn't work for me. I always have liked being showered, dressed, and ready to go before the kids get up, so I'm ready for the day.

I have always showered in the morning after breakfast. That used to coincide with naptime, but when that nap was dropped, I still showered at the same time. Our house is babyproofed more or less and so I just turn on a DVD and get in the shower. Now that they are a little older and would rather play, they just play in their rooms while I take a quick shower.

If I have somewhere to go in the morning, I'll get up and take it before the little ones get up. That means getting up by 6:30 on school days or 7 any other day. Otherwise I take it at naptime around 1. My hair is really boring right now so all I have to do when I get out of the shower is comb it and I'm done. I don't trust the twins and Aaron alone even in a baby proofed room unless I can hear them!

DH and I both WOH, so we shower before we get them up -- it works so well on weekdays, we do it on weekends too.

When they took a morning nap, that is when I showered.

Now that they do not nap in the AM, I take my shower before they get up. I like being ready for the day before they wake up.

On the days where they decide to get up before my shower, DH is usually home so I still hop in the shower. If DH is already gone, I wait til after breakfast and then take a shower while they are watching a TV show.

They come into my bedroom and I put on a show (usually Backyardigans or Barney) and they watch that while I shower. My room is pretty well baby-proofed. I was scared to do this at first, but we have never had a problem. I have only had to come out of the shower once for unexplained crying.

Good question. Mine are still on the 2 nap schedule so I shower at AM nap time (8:00). However, when they drop this nap in the next couple months I'm sure, I plan to still shower at that time. Thier bedroom is right next to mine and they play very well in their cribs. I plan to put a couple books in with them and take a quick shower.

I shower before they wake up usually.

As soon as they wake up, or if I wake, whichever is first. They usually play and talk when they wake up, and I get showered and dressed very quickly, in about 20 min, so they aren't waiting that long. I had the same crisis when they switched to one nap. I am so not a morning person! I liked staying in my sweats in the morning and giving myself a chance to get going before I had to shower and dress.

I like to be up and ready and even have some of my daily chores done before the kiddos get out of bed. They don't wake up until 8 or 8:30 so that gives me time to have myself ready and usually get a load of laundry done and vacuum the downstairs before anyone else is up. If, for some reason, I'm not showered by the time the kids wake up, the rest of my day is in a funk. I just can't seem to get with it.

Right now we go to the gym at 9, the girls nap when we get home at 10:15 and I shower while they sleep. On days when I need to shower and they're awake I just grab a bunch of toys and put them in the bathroom with me. They play pretty well for the 20 minutes or so it takes me to get ready.
