When can they start having regular instant oatmeal - like the Quaker stuff?

I think I got the plain stuff closer to the end of the first year but they didnt care for it.

I think that nutritionally they are equal, so I don't see why you couldn't give it to them now. If it's too lumpy for them you could probably stick it in the blender.

I've been doing it for a little while now (about a 1 1/2 months) and my kids are almost 5 months. I make them all different flavors and whatnot. They really enjoy it!

I think once they've moved onto the more textured food, the regular oatmeal was fine. I don't think I would do it at nearly 5 months but I think at your babies age it would be more than fine! Mine liked cream of wheat or grits better than oatmeal. :)

The boys loved instant oatmeal with all the fruit flavors and we started that around the 10 month mark. If you've started giving "lumpier/chunkier" food then instant oatmeal shouldn't be a problem.

We tried it today because the Gerber oatmeal is getting so expensive. I mixed it with Gerber 2nd's fruit and both Max & Lily spit out the oatmeal, but ate the fruit. Only my kids :D . I thought the regular oatmeal would save on money, but I think it is still too course for them and they are almost 13 months. I may try to grind the oatmeal in the blender like someone suggested.
