    :nea:

I am trying to substitute 1 bottle a day with straight milk instead of formula & Chloe HATES it :bad: she takes 2 sips & then throws the bottle & cries.
I end up giving her another bottle w/ formula so that she is at least drinking something.

I have tried to just do the milk in sippies (and will continue to try!) but they aren't really interested in their cups.

So whats the best way to transition from formula to milk in your opinion? Sippies only? 1/2 formula 1/2 milk in bottles? 1 bottle a day & stick to it?

    Thanks!

If she hates it that bad, I would transition even slower than what you've got. Try just one or two ounces, then give that a couple of days, then go up another one or two ounces, and so on. As far as sippie vs. bottle, If she doesn't drink from sippies well, then stick with bottle until transition is over. I would hate to do two transitions at once. If she likes sippies and does well with those, then go ahead and use a sippie.

I know some people have went cold turkey and it worked well for them. It didn't us and we had to transition slowly.

Can you slowly mix whole milk in her formula until it is eventually all milk?

I did 1/2 milk, 1/2 formula in their bottles until I was out of formula (like 2 cans) and then as you know we just went cold turkey and onto sippies. My girls weren't big sippy cup drinkers either until they had no other option. Good Luck!!

I'm doing half milk and half formula with Sophia's bottle and plan on reducing the amount of formula slowly until eventually we hit a whole bottle of whole milk for her. Mine have a belief the sippies are for water with a splash of juice, so I had to get them an entirely different brand of sippie and put a little milk in it and right now they will take sips out of it. It seems like it's all baby steps for my little ones.

I realize this is harsh but I just gave them milk in sippies and figured they'd drink it when they got thirsty enough. They did.

I did the same as Aimee. Formula in bottles one day, milk in sippies the next. If they know they can hold out for what they want, they usually will. But with the cold turkey transition, there is no going back, and they will give in once they get thirsty enough.

None of my kids have liked Milk so I don't give it to them to drink. They get it in cereal but that's about it. They get plenty of calcium in yogurt and cheese and other dairy products so it doesn't matter if they don't drink Milk. I wouldn't force it they don't like it.
