The girls are starting to refuse 2 bottles of the day, their 11 am bottle and their 3pm bottle. They are drinking about 12 oz of formula a day. I know it is not enough but I cannot force them to drink their bottle.
They do drink out of a cup, either water or juice, which on a good day (when I hand them their cup all the time)is about 5-6 oz.

Anyone in the same situation, any suggestions?

I can feel the frusteration, from when they were tiny and did not drink well, coming right back up again. Aaargggg!!

    Thanks.

Same situation sort of. Mine were refusing the 11am bottle for sure (so we just dropped it last Sunday) and it is hit or miss most days on the 3pm or after pm nap bottle. We are doing some sippee cup but not enough to make the difference of a missed bottle. I cant wait for some suggestions.

Have you tried whole milk? Or offering the sippy instead of the bottle? At that age we were off bottles completely because they didn't want to hold still to drink a whole one, and would rather drink little amounts all day. They need 16 oz a day. Yogurt and cheese counts in the milk requirement also.

My older boys were off the bottles at that age too. We did formula in the sippy cups at 12 mths ....then on to whole milk. As PP stated, cheese and yogurt....even ICE CREAM!..yummy counts!

    Good luck to ya!

We were off formula and bottles at 11 1/2 months per peds. suggestion. I would just drop those bottles, and not worry too much. As long as they are eating their meals, and starting to drink milk, they should be fine. Call your ped for confirmation, though.

Sounds like they are weaning from formula. I bet they will like whole milk now at 11 months. All of mine weaned by 11 months from formula too.

My singletons were done with bottles by 10-11 months. I can't remember if I switched milk or stayed with formula at that point, but they were on sippy cups instead and did better.

Mine are going through the same thing. The only bottles they really finish are the morning ones. And at 6:00 a.m., I'm more than happy to oblige! I was worried too about getting enough milk/calcium. I tried to give mine some milk little by little and they got the worst diaper rashes. So I investigated here and saw some moms use rice milk. Mine love it! The vanilla flavored one anyway. So I give them 1/2 formula, 1/2 rice milk. I have a pedi appt on Friday, so I'll see what she thinks about yogurt, if that might give them rashes too.....okay, going off on a tangent here...thinking out loud!

We were having the same problem..I asked if I can switch to milk and the pedi said sure but that he tends to find that they drink less milk than formula. Well, They are now on 1/4 formula and 3/4 milk and drinking it. I'm finding that Aiden won't finish his morning bottle so I might change that to a sippy cup but they mostly finish the bedtime bottle.
    So here is their schedule:
    630- bottle 3/4 milk 1/4 formula
    730 breakfast with water sippy
    830 nap
11- lunch with water sippy or some juice mixed with water
    12 or 1230 nap
    2- snack with milk sippy
    4 dinner with water sippy
6 bottle (same as first bottle)

So I might drop the 630 bottle and give them a sippy of milk instead.

    Thanks for all the replies.
Mine do have a container of yoghurt with lunch. And with supper, a sippy with a type of yoghurt drink. Otherwise a vitamin enriched waterdown juice, and they are able to drink from that all day.
So I'm guessing they are getting enough milk.
And I too, am happy to get rid of some more bottles, it makes life a little easier again.
