refused a bottle

Emma was e-x-h-a-u-s-t-e-d tonight after her bath. We usually do bottle after bath and then off to bed. She has always been my little guzzler, only occasionally not finishing. Tonight she wouldn't even take a sip. I tried several times and she completely freaked on me. So I put her to bed and she was in there quietly until I brought Lauren in and then proceeded to babble and giggle for about half an hour (Lauren passed out right away). I feel awful because she takes about 24 oz. per day and today she only had the two bottles, so only 16 oz. Dinner was different tonight. I usually give them a jar each of chicken and apples along with some sort of finger foods: crackers, puffs, etc., but we were out of the jarred stuff so I did yogurt (about 3/4 of it between the two of them) and a slice of banana. That was at 4:45 and then bottle at 6:30.

So what would you do now? If she wakes, feed her? Thanks for your help.

I would give her a bottle if she wakes up(although 16oz is ok at 9 months). Sounds like she was out of sorts for some reason. Teeth?

I WISH IT WAS TEETH! :icon_biggrin: We are 5-0 in that department. Lauren with 5. Emma doesn't even have a glimmer of a new tooth bump. When she first refused it, it's like the minute she clamped down to suck she just started screaming so I instantly thought teeth but, as always, I saw nothing. Maybe though...

Try rubbing her gums with Oragel before her bottle next time. Sounds promising....

I agree. Sounds like something may be brewing. Kev got his first at 8 months and not another until now! And he is going to be one in two weeks! I hope she is feeling ok.

Wouldn't that be nice?! :D So she slept through the night without a peep. This morning she couldn't drink fast enough! She did hesitate and whine a little bit so I threw on some Oragel and she continued without a problem. So...we'll see what happens. I checked her gums again this morning - nothing!
