My 8 week old is taking Prevacid for reflux. He was on Similac Sensitive and with that and the medication seemed to be improving graduallly (not miserable after eating like he used to be but still throwing up quite a bit). A friend of mine recommended Enfamil Gentlease and I have been combining the 2 for the past 2 days so I can gradually change him to just the Gentlease. I don't know if it's my imagination but Conner actually seems much fussier again.

What formula did your babies with reflux do best on?

Nutramigen. They couldn't handle regular formula or soy. They would scream while feeding them, scream after feeding them, vomit, their bottoms were raw and it wouldn't go away and they wouldn't sleep through the night. Nutramigen was like liquid gold.

I AGREE WITH THE PP NUTRAMIGEN IS WONDERFUL! MY DD SARAH ALSO TAKES PREVACID OUR PED HAS HAD HER ON IT SINCE WE BROUGHT HER HOME, SAME WITH THE FORMULA

Yeah, my boys were on Prevacid along with Nutramigen. It is so expensive but it really worked for my boys. They were on Gentlease first but then we had to switch to Nutramigen.

I have a reflux baby also and am fine on Similac Sensitive. I just wanted to mention that some insurance companies cover this special formula- Alimentum and Nutramigen. Just call your co to see.. it's worth a shot!

Nutramigen was the only one that worked for us. Like a PP said, some insurance companies cover this formula if you have a prescription. Sadly, mine didn't, but my doctor gives us lots of samples whenever we go in for a visit.

Savannah was on the gentlease and i switched her to the sensative and she did much better. Sensative has no lactose and the gentlease has low lactose. Maybe ALimentum or Nutramigin might be what you need... Yes try to see if your insurance will cover it... WOnt hurt to try and how nice would that be...

My DD had reflux and we tried Gentlease and it didn't work for her. We ended up on Nutramigen from about 6 weeks - 6 months). Expensive, but it works. Around 6 months we put her on Good Start and she has been fine on that too.
