all my baby girl does is spit up ALL DAY LONG. She is 5 months today -- she takes Zantac 2x a day. I guess it helped with teh pain, but not the spit up. Anyone know of any tricks to helping to reduce spit up? She's very active, and this may be why she's spitting up so much...she does have Reflux/Gerd.

When one of my girls is very active, she does seem to spit up more...for us, some days are much better than others. She has days where she is constantly spitting up. When we formula feed, we give her Enfamil AR, which has really helped. When she gets breastmilk, I put some rice cereal in it. She spits that up more than the formula unfortunately. We also keep her upright for as long *** possible after eating. Sorry I don't have any more suggestions for ya- I know it can be tough! At least she's not in pain though! :)

I had to switch my girls to Enfamil AR to help with spit up.

My ped said the meds help w/ the pain and heal the esophagus but they do nothing for the spit up. My one ds still spits up but it is a lot less.

The medication ours were on to help with the actual spitting up is Reglan - it is supposed to speed the movement of food through the stomach - less in the stomach is less that can be spit up. The difficulty is that it has to be given 30 minutes before a feeding, which is tricky to gauge. All of the other medications were just to decrease discomfort.

We were constantly reminded that as long as they were gaining weight, the refulx was not considered a medical problem, but a "laundry problem". The only good thing is that it tends to go away on it's own.

    Good luck!

Are you nursing or formua feeding? If you are nursing, consider cutting things out of your diet such as acid, onions, etc. Check out Kellymom.com for more tips for breastfeeding and reflux.

The Enfamil A/R (added rice) worked well for one of the boys but the other was seeing a Ped GI. His recommendation was to add 2 tsp. of cereal per each ounce of formula in the bottle (we were only doing 1 tsp per the reg Ped). This worked wonders for us, but only under supervision of the Ped. GL!

ETA: also are you keeping her upright for at least 30 minutes after each feeding?
