The topic tiltle might seem strange, but it has bearing on my post. I was watching "why I wore red lipstick to my masectomy.." the other night. No I am not having a masectomy but still did something brave, for me at least.
I have an extremely emionally demanding job, and when I get home have the same demands and then some as a mother, wife, housekeeper etc.
I am always putting the boys and the twins and my husband ahead of my own needs and actually try never to complain. Although married and having a dh that "tries" to help with the kids, i still feel and work like a singel parent. Everything about the kids always comes down to me having to provide, sort out, fix, and you all know how that is. then not to talk about the demand as wife...
For a while now I have been asking dh would he mind if i take a break and go away for weekend, just two days. (He goes away on a regular basis and sometimes for a week...) I am always met with the most grumpiest comments. :catfight:
So... i decided to put my foot down, and yes painted my lips red, phoned my friend, told her to get ready for a weekend of doing NOTHING, booked a cottage on the beach, paid and TOLD dh.
Well he is still crumpy, making 100 excuses but, I am leaving tomorrow for my weekend away. I know the kids will survive without me (okay took me a long time to get to that realisation... but it did come) and he will have to survive too.

So just in case i get cold feet and decide not to go , i have been wearing red lipstick the whole week. :winking:

I am supposed to go away for the weekend the last weekend in June with my girlfriends. It will be my first weekend, let alone my first night EVER away from the girls since they were born. I am excited, but keep thinking I want to back out. I know I will enjoy myself, but the anxiety of being away from them for a whole weekend may be more than I can handle.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, though!!

Being away from you DH and children will help everyone. They'll have a greater appreciation for you and you will be a refreshed wife and mommy. Don't let anything come between you and your weekend away.
