I have stretch marks (that are still spreading and growing), but for the past couple of days my belly has been red and itchy all over. It is like it is flushed because it is warm to the touch and if I press it, the area turns white then back to red.
I have used a new lotion (Eucerin) so maybe that is it. I stopped using it yesterday to see if it would go away.
Anyone have something similar? It is really annoying and I feel like I am constantly putting lotion on.

I could be wrong but are you on meds for contractions? I know that I started getting this when they started me on the procardia. My legs got real hot and red and so did the skin on my belly. They weren't too concerned but did want to keep an eye on it. I would just ask your doctor. I'm sure most of it is just stretching!

I'm on Procardia too and my belly sounds just like what you're describing. In addition, my OB diagnosed me with PUPPS. Do you itch anywhere else? My itching started with my belly only, then spread. It seems like everything irritates it...NST monitors, ultrasounds. An itch is miserable--especially when you can't scratch!! Sorry you're having to deal with this [IMG]

I am on procardia but I have been on it for 2 months now.

I go for my NST today (and boy do I dread the belts and monitors) so I can ask the nure practicioner about it.

That sounds like PUPPS to me. I had it. I was not on procardia. I don't think Eucerin would cause it as that's a really good lotion to help it! My PUPPS spread to all of my joints, where skin gets dry fastest. Taking a cool shower before bed calmed it enough to me to get to sleep and also laying a cool washcloth over the itching.
Cocoa Butter might offer some relief and definately ask the nurse about it.
    Good luck,

This is going to sound CRAZY....but, last week when I had the monitors on (which I have discovered is causing most of my itching) I stretched a long piece of Saran wrap over my belly and had them put the monitors over the wrap. It was the difference between night and day!! I had no itching afterwards. Usually the night after NST's I am up scratching for hours and end up taking Benedryl. But this time, I had none of that. At first, the nurses said that the monitors wouldn't work through the Saran wrap...it worked GREAT! It's worth a shot if you're miserable. Good luck.
