Hi my DS has been slightly red in the face and it's just been getting worse all day. My initial thought was allergic reaction, but we have not introduced a new food in over a week (and he hasn't had that new food since last Wed), no changes in soaps, lotions, detergents...

Could it be teething? He has 2 - so I know what to look for inside his mouth, and I don't see any red bumps, swollen gums? What else could it be? It's his cheeks and chin - even his nose a little bit. He is not running fever either. Only other notable thing is he has been SUPER cranky tonight.

    Thanks!

I have certainly seen some of my babies get really red cheeks when they are teething. If there is no fever or other signs of illness, I would just see how he's doing tomorrow, hopefully by then it will be back to normal.

Yep, could be just about anything giving him some red cheeks. It is cold and dry where you live? Maybe some Vaseline will help. Or it could be teething. I hope its better or no worse today.

two things happened to us that made ours have red cheeks. #1 cold weather - and it seems that's just happened again this year for the first time... and #2 are yours just now starting to roll over? or doing something that would make their faces touch the floor? pure contact on the floor might be it...

Thanks ladies - It was still red and maybe a little chapped looking. It is very cold and dry here - although we really don't get out. I bet it's the dryness. I bought some aquaphor and put that on tonight. Maybe that will help?

AH HA!!! My babies are just learning to roll over (& seem to be teething)... this could be it, though, for those really red cheeks!

    :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:
