Looking for some reasonably priced gymnastice/dance/swim/music classes for toddlers. What do you all have in your community?? Gymboree is beyond expensive, and even the local Y seems a bit outrageous. $66/mo for the family pack, plus $50/kid/class for gymnastics, and that's the member price!

Our town has pretty reasonable prices. 10 wks is $50 each (for my 3 yr olds) & $85 each for my 6 & 10 yr old.

One thing that makes it really affordable for me is that they were needing another Board member and so that is me :) Luckily it is not a time intensive position and it gives me 50% off all my kids classes :good: Well worth it with four kids registered. I think I will be a member for a long time.

    Good luck finding something.

All of our stuff like that is like $10/child per session. I signed them up for a gymnastics class which they hated, and they would not refund the $$$. So I am not going back to that particular establishment again, but I am going to let them take a dance class at a dance academy when they are 3. They love to dance!

I wish I could find something reasonable. Close to home would be a bonus. I had my older two dd's in gymnastics. The nearest place to us was 20 miles away. At $170 for both girls every 6 weeks and gas to get there, we just couldn't keep it up. The kicker for me was that we couldn't get their classes back to back at a time slot we could make. I was making the trip to gymnastics twice a week. Combined with the little ones E/I preschool in the same, area the gas was killing us.

I am very close to mine, so gas isn't an issue. It's $80/month for once a week. (It would be $45/mo for one child, so I get the multi-child discount, which saves $5/mo/child.)

We have taken classes through the city rec departments. Fortunately, we live near lots of cities, so we have quite a few choices as to where we can go. On avg, it is about $8-10 a class. If my kids end of LOVING gymnastics as they get older, then we will consider going to a real gym that teaches gymnastics. But for now, the rec depts are just fine!

Locally- we called and our gymnastics/dance/ etc classes all offered a FREE class to tryout. We found out the girls DO NOT like gymnastics and did like Kindermusic...but it was way too expensive for us.

It is usually 8-15 $ per kid for classes around here- totally depending on what/where. Swimming was cheaper, Y was cheaper, community Ed was fairly inexpensive, Kindermusic/Gymboree/ Gymnastics were all pricey.

A few things also req an adult per child...so we cant do those since DH works late and an odd schedule.

Right now we do free community stuff (library, story time at local book store)- we will try dance at 3 if they want to and maybe swimming.

Try your local Parks & Rec Dept. Our county offers toddler ballet and gymnastics classes for about $60 per child. The session lasts about 8 weeks I think. I haven't done it yet, but am considering it for the future.

My 10 yo is a competitive gymnast, so she's at the gym 6 days a week. Since we're at the gym all the time, I signed the babies up for classes. I was surprised at the rate ($70/mo for both), since my older dd's tuition is so outrageous. Maybe they just felt sorry for us.

One thing I like about our gym is they offer the classes that the little girls take 3 days a week, at two different time frames. We can go to any of the classes we want (but just once a week), which is nice - because our schedule gets screwed up sometimes - and locking into one class at one time would be impossible.

WE also do ours through the city Parks & Rec dept. It's $40 for six 45 min classes. I would try that if you have one in your area. Ours also has childcare that is only $2/hr for 1st child, $1/hr per add. child. I put my little ones in it for DD1s class, and then she is in it for theirs.

Katelyn takes a ballet/tap class through our city program and it costs $42 for a 10-week class. I would check out your city programs as they seem to be the most reasonable priced.

I actually used to coach gymnastics for children age 3-9 through our former city's rec program. I coached for 6 years, and had to retire when I was 5 months preg. with the twins!
The rate was $15 per child for 10 weeks. There was a one time members fee for the community - it was like $5 per family. The membership never expired and it allowed families to enroll their kids in a variety of programs throughout the year.

I also used to coach at the YMCA, but I don't know what the non-members paid. I don't think we had any non-members in the class!
I would like to get in to coaching again, but I don't want to work for a CLUB.....I would love for our YMCA to start up a program...we are members at the YMCA, and my kids have started showing interest in climbing, tumbling, exercising, ect. I would love to put them both in Gymnastic someday.
