    Hi,

My DD has a really bad diaper rash from past 3 days, i have been putting Petrolium jelly, balmex, butt paste, desitin, corn starch and powder, but nothing has helped, i left her w/o a diaper for several hours yesterday when she is awake. but nothing has been helping, what else can i do to cure her diaper rash, she has little red bumps and pimples on her butt and pvt area. i really don't know what else to do.

Can anyone help me, what else do i need to do to cure this, its been 3 days i hate my baby girl in pain :(

When my boys get diaper rash it takes about a week for it to completely go away, but it is better in a day or so. I'm not sure what a yeast infection looks like on a baby, but could it be that? My sister used to get really bad yeast infections as a child and I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy! I hope she is feeling better soon!

I know she doesn't have yeast infection because she had it before and we put meds on her for that, but this is all over her butt and her pvt area( outside) not inside. thank god. when i air it out it gets a lil better but for nap i need to put disposable diapers on her since that is all i have and when she is awake i leave her w/o a diaper, any other suggestions would really help. hate to see my baby girl in pain :(

Try Triple Paste, it's expensive but works.

My DS just got over a pretty bad one. . . Like you did, I let him air dry for a couple of mins, then I used aquaphor and ORIGINAL Desitin (not the creamy one b/c its less concentrated) and just coated them on. . .(aquaphor 1st, then desitin). ..it took a couple of days to heal but the combo actually helped the pain quite a bit too. . .

Good Luck! Its so hard seeing LO's in pain. . .

I think Target has triple paste. Not sure about Walgreens. I would call first.

Katelyn gets pretty icky diaper rashes too, and I use the diaper rash salve that Earth Mama Angel Baby makes, and during the day I will leave her diaper off for a few hours and just let her rest on a few cloth diapers. They also make a diaper rash soap that works very well, and I do not put her in disposable diapers while she has her rashes. Normally they go away in a couple of days. :) Good luck!!

My doctor said he used canesten for his son. My babies haven't had diaper rashes but he said that if they get one, to use that. I can't say if it works but that was his suggestion. I hope it gets better shortly.

I learned from the nurses when we were in the NICU that the little red bumps means yeast rash. My boys have had them a few times and they clear up with yeast medication. Right now we are using nystatin that their dr. prescribed. They also have thrush in their mouths that we are working on, but I guess the two can be related.

With Diaper Rash we use A&D Ointment and our pedi recommended us dipping their backends in a small bath of baking soda and water.
He said it would be soothing and be a better pH for their skin (instead of pee pH).
Dunno, but it worked for us.
Likewise with his advice we ended up keeping soft good quality papertowels & a small coffee cup of bakingsoda/water at our
changing table for a better diaper wipe.

lotrimin (yes the foot fungal ointment) does the trick! my pedi recommended it for my girl when she got her first really bad rash and it cleared it up within a day! used it on my son too for his. put it on 3 x a day, thin and cover that with desitin or other butt paste... GL!

The baking soda works great! I just keep a spray bottle. Another thing that hasn't been mentioned is sunlight. I just place them in a sunbeam that's coming into the house and let them play around for awhile. GL!
