For the past weekend (since Friday) I been having alot more contractions. Well Im not sure if they are real or not but they are somewhat painful. I have a really high tolerance for pain so it kinda scares me... When I was pregnant with my daughter I didn't "feel good" and I ended up being 5cm and 80% and having contractions and not even knowing it. Lately I haven't really felt well, I been dizzy all the time (I am anemic) even when I am lying down, BAD hip pain that I can't really sleep, when I start contracting most of the time I get a sharp pain on my pelvic floor (TMI I KNOW SORRY). I mostly feel it later on at night and they come every 5 min or so. I lay down and its there for a few hours and then when I start to fall asleep I get another sharp pain....Eventually I fall asleep. I read somewhere that if you can fall asleep they arn't real contractions ( I don't know how true this is). I woke up this morning and every morning feeling like crap. My husband keeps asking me to please go in but Im a REALLY stubborn person cause I work in the hospital and I went into L+D for cramping at 22 weeks my mother in law called me a drama queen. So Im realllllllllly trying to avoid all this. Honestly I dont know why she would call me that when with my first I NEVER went to L+D until I went to have my daughter...Okay sorry I was venting. But can anyone give me any advice.... What they think?? Or do you guys think I should wait. Thanks sooo much in advance!

Do you remember how intense your contractions were last time? (In the heat of active labor, not early labor)
It's really tough to tell though, especially when it's not me feeling them. LOL
I will tell you though, I thought I was in early labor a couple of times and when the real thing started I knew the difference. (Aside from having them break my water, I'm strictly speaking of the contractions themselves.)

Think about it this way, if true labor contractions were so hard to mistake, more babies would be born in cars. LOL

    Hang in there!

the thing with twin labour and singleton labour both are so different! they dont really worry to much about contrax with a singeton unless there is a de pattern-i had contraxs off and on for weeks with the girls-some quiet horribly painful and others mildly annoying--if they are coming closer together and are consistently getting worst-always get checked! i think i went in 2-3 times a week! not once was i told i was "over-reacting" they encouraged me to get checked-with twins its so much more risky for problems to occur! i needed to get the steriod shots because i was in per-term labour at 34 wks-i was able to hold off til 36 wks and then they def wanted out
Im with DH go in; get monitored; see what your progess is you might just need to take it really easy during the last few wks!

If it were me... the peace of mind of just going in and getting checked would outweigh the possible embarrasement of being going for no reason. Good luck whichever you choose.

I'm glad you went in and got checked!!

I just got back from a regular ob appt, I had a stomach virus sun night and the contractions monday morning were more like period cramping, when I told my ob he goes "Oh boy let's see if anything happened." Fortunately nothing, but it definetly doesn't hurt to be checked!

They want me on modified bed rest but its gonna be hard with a 3 year old. Thanks everyone for your comments.
