Neither of the girls are crawling yet, but Mia is well on her way. She is spending a lot of time trying to move and pulling up on things. The only problem is that I have noticed that her knees are all red and a little irritated. With the warm weather she has only been wearing onsies and no pants. Does anyone have any tricks to spare her knees?

Do you think that she would be to hot in a onsie and Baby Legs? Our house has been about 77 degrees and until we turn the AC on it will stay that way.

    Hi
Hannah is crawling all over the place and I have noticed the same thing with her. I have been putting lotion on her knees at night, but I am anxious to hear what good ideas everybody else has. B)

I would give the baby legs a shot. Its getting warm here too and I still but them on my girls from time to time. :)

If you think that they are rubbed raw from crawling...try cutting a pair of hubby's socks off so that you can slide them onto her knees and see if it makes a difference. My honest opinion is that her skin is "baby skin" and she will recover quickly from these first times on her knees.

I don't think the baby legs would be too hot...you can always try & see. The regular ones are 80% cotton, so they should breathe well. Trouble I had with them when Johnny 1st started crawling was that he would crawl right out of them. I think now that he's crawling a little better they would work, but now I find that boys shorts are usually long enough to cover his knees. When Zoe starts, I'll try the Baby Legs again.

I've never heard of Baby Legs until now. I can only picture something that looks like legwarmers from the 80s? :)

During the day I put comfy pants and a short sleeved onsie on my daughter who is crawling all over the house - our house has both carpet and tile.

I do this because I was afraid that she would get rug burn or run over something that could scratch her legs/knees.

    Maybe I'm being over-protective?

It gets warm here in Texas, and our AC is currently on 77/76. (my husband cranks it to 72 when it gets really hot in the summer - then I'm freezing!)

Zachary has rug burn on his knees and forearms from scootching (army crawl) I put on light weight cotton pants and long sleeve onsie. Treated the rug burn with Solarcaine aloe (covered right away so he couldn't ingest it)

There is actually something out there for their knees so they don't get raw. My mil just bought me something 2 mths ago when my son started crawling.
Safety 1st makes it, it's called cushioned sof'knee protectors. It says it's durable and machine washable. I think she got it at babies R us too but am not sure.

We use baby legs on both of them. They work wonders.

I've got two crawlers too - I slather on A&D ointment and then over that I put Johnson's Baby Creme (not the lotion but the thicker creme in the tube)...I put pants on her today (because we had to go out) and it seems to be helping...

I'm not a big fan of the BabyLegs - just something about them - I think I'd rather get the Carters rolly pants
