rashes from carpet

Karina has a stripe of rash on the outside of both of her lower legs. It seems to be right where her legs would be touching the carpet when she sits. Previously, I've had the girls on a blanket on the floor, but now I can't keep them contained and they are moving all over so they are spending a lot more time on the actual carpet. Has anyone else had a baby who had a reaction to the carpet? Any ideas what it might be if it isn't from the carpet? The funny thing is, she's not my kid with the eczema and sensitive skin.

Do you use any kind of carpet cleaner or sanitizer? Maybe she might have a reaction to that? Mine did not have a reaction from the carpet. Sophia did have rough knees for a while when she started crawling and we put petroleum jelly on them and smoothed them out.

 

My sister is very allergic to fabric fibers found in carpets. She is in a new apartment and can't even walk barefoot without getting a serious rash. What type of carpet is it?

Cheap. I don't know. It's some sort of berber. I just had it cleaned yesterday because they are crawling all over it now, but I noticed the rash before it was cleaned.

That's what my sister is allergic to...berber. I was really worried when she came to out house b/c we have a long loop berber, but she just kept her shoes/socks on and didn't sit on the floor. I would try and keep pants on your DD.
