Lauren has had a rash on her for almost 2 weeks now. The pedi said at last appt, it was probably due to the amount of drool, but it is up on her cheeks too. We have put fanny cream and vaseline on it non-stop and it isn't getting any better. Does anyone know of anything else to use or if it could be from something else (i.e. they are on an antibiotic for the snots). Can I give her benadryl?

It might be a mild yeast infection, try using lotion instead of vaseline and diaper rash cream. It should start clearing up soon.

    Hey Jenny,
What kind of lotion? I am afraid that it will set her skin on fire!!

Try Cetephil! It is perfect for this sort of thing! Our boys have similar stuff. It tends to clear up for about a week and then sometimes it comes back. Vaseline... there was a post recenly about that. Not so good for babies!

We use Aquafor and that seems to work nicely.

Yep, any of those mild lotions should work.

Ben had a rash on his face like that from 6 mos to a year. We tried all sorts of things, but nothing seemed to knock it out 100%. The pedi thought that it was eczema. It was probably from all that drool too.

We used hydrocortisone cream on it, for really bad break outs, and then covered that with aquaphor. Otherwise, we just kept aquaphor on it. Nothing else made a difference.
