One of my guys has a rash on his back and belly, little red dots covering it completely. It is not on his face, arms or legs though. We haven't changed soaps, no new foods...etc...nothing has changed. He is not warm, and his brother doesn't have it. It doesn't seem to bother him, but my daycare won't take him if he has an unexplained rash (ofcourse). Should I just ride it out, or should I take him to the doc tomorrow if it is still here? Anyone have this happen and what did it turn out to be?
    Thanks in advance.

Have you checked out AskDrSears.com? Lots of good info there.

Has he been sick at all? Any fever or anything? My girls and my friends twins all had (twice, actually) a virus that began as a fever with no other symptoms excpet fatigue, and ended with this rash, on back and belly. That's how you know this particular virus is ending, when the rash appears.

May not be it at all, but we've had this virus recently so thought I'd just suggest it.

    Good luck, hope he's okay!!

Did he just get any vaccinations? My DS had a back/ stomach rash outbreak about 2 weeks after his vaccinations last year. The doctor said it had to run its course and there was nothing he could really prescribe. He did say if it was itching him bad that we could use cortisone cream.

Sometimes a rash can be a sign of strep throat but I think it usually is accompanied by a fever. I can't think of anything else.

Hey, thanks for your responses. I had a dr appt myself today so I asked her about it. She mentioned that it was most likely the tale end of a viral infection (like one of you had mentioned). He did have a cold and a fever on the weekend, so most likely that is all that is was. I had never heard of that before of getting a rash after a viral infection, so good to know if and when it happens again.
Thanks again for your responses! :D

Kelly had a rash two weeks ago. She had a fever on Monsay of that week and Thursday she woke with the rash. It started on her torso too and then it spread. They also said that it was the tail end of a virus or an allergy. After seeing the pics on TS, other members said that it looked like Fifths Disease (which matched her symptoms perfectly). Maybe google pics of that and see if that's what it looks like.
