So I am stressing, emotional and not feeling 100% today.. First we hit 28 weeks which means the 8 week countdown is on, and I am sure it will fly..THAT SCARES ME! What if I can't do this???

Also I am thinking "we are almost (supply wise) ready" .. and then I see the list of still needs and it is all little random things that will add up, I just feel like going out and buying it all right now! BUT I can't.. I need to wait to see if anything else comes off our list. And then I stress about what I can't buy, like nursing bras, how do I know 2 months in advance what size to get? I am a DD+ already with implants.. And when I work on my hospital bags, ummm its kinda hard to pack things that I need for 2 months down the road.. and I am just packing the very few basics. (although I did type up lists, that way of the hubby needs to pack it by himself)

And I am worried about having enough of this or that.. and I hope to nurse with occasional supplements.. but can't buy formual head of time in case the babies don't like or whatever..

Sorry just stressing out.. thanks for all your ears!

As far as the hospital bag......don't stress over it! Pack the bare minimum (hubby can bring the rest later, if you actually need it).

As far as the nursing bras (I wore my regular ones and just pulled them up)

As far as the formula......if you see the need, buy gift cards for yourslef instead and then the $$$ will be set aside and not "wasted" on the wrong formula.

Parenting twins is all in the mind set....if you think that you can do it, you can........if you think that you CANNOT do it, it will be a struggle.

Don't worry about the little things. You can always get that stuff after they arrive. Same for nursing bras. I bought mine after the kids were a week old. Until then, I wore sports bras. I waited until I could go somewhere and get properly fitted. I know it is easy for me to say...I have been there done that. But really, you know the saying, "Don't sweat the small stuff." It's true!!!

And congrats on your 28 week milestone!

Hospital Bag - I didn't EVER pack one! I just had my DH grab whatever I needed (hair brush, toothbrush, hair ties, lotion, socks, pillow & robe) the next day. You won't need half of the things you think you might.

Formula - Our hospital gave us a BUNCH of free samples of the formula they gave the girls there before we left the hospital. We also loaded up on diapers and other things. Remember - anything in your babies' carts you can take - they can't use it again for other babies. This includes thermometers, bulbs, soothies, bathing bin, wipes, etc. We also got free formula from our doctor at our well-baby visits. Don't hesitate to ask - nurses will be more than happy to give you stuff :)

Nursing bras - I didn't get any till a week or so after we came home. Until then I wore a tank top with built in bra or one of my old ones. I am not sure my shirt was even on for that first couple weeks - feeding every 3 hours...

Try not to worry - you will have time after the babies come. They sleep a lot when they first get home and your DH can always run out (or you if you are up to it) and get whatever you need.

You can do this - and really 8 weeks is a lot of time. You seem like a list person (me too!) so just jot things down when you think of them and get done what you can. If you don't get to it then it is all ready for someone else to take care of!

Hillybean said it best - take EVERYTHING out of the cart...EVERYTHING. Especially if the babies need the preemie size diapers, we had a he** of a time finding those, and Costco ain't one of the places that does.

Using the Gift Cards for formula idea is the best one I've heard yet...! I wish I had thought of that before we knew that Rachel was going to need Alimentum (sp?) that you can't get at Costco, either.

I had a bag but really didn't have much in it. Disposable camera, flip flops, loose pj bottoms, t-shirts and shampoo, etc. I used most of it to lug home the stuff out of the cart LOL. I just wore regular sports bras - they were cheaper and seemed to be pretty close to the nursing bras.

Other than that, I can't think of much...Congrats on 28 weeks!!!!

trust me... the last 8 weeks go slllllloooooowwwww.......not fast.

i packed what i could in my hospital bag, then i added a list of items to add at the last minute (camera, video camera, slippers, etc). so it's all set, even though i need to add a few items.

you know how we say 'when someone offers to help, take the help and figure out what you need the person to do later.'? well, formula and diapers are those things. get the gift cards, and when you need formula/diapers, call that friend, acquaintance, neighbor and ask if they can pick it up for you. also, i found that for me diapers.com and amazon have the best price on diapers. you can ask dh to order them while you're still in the hospital (they both have free shipping over a certain $) and they'll arrive right around the time when you get home.

good luck and enjoy your last two months!
