What size did/do your kids wear? I realize there is leeway and it depends on the brand, but ballpark (Ally is 6-9 months, Bear is in 12 months)

Were they using sippies effectively? Mine don't

Were they eating "real" solids? (cheerios, diced fruit, and such) Mine don't

Were they in convertible seats? Mine aren't! even though the seats are sitting by the door

We are a month younger and the T man wears 12M and Miss E 6-9

Miss E only uses a sippy, T man will not even touch it.

They eat those things if I put them in their mouths. They can pick them up, but would rather play with them then put them in their mouths

We have been in covertibles for several months now!

My girls are just now in 12 month. They can still wear some 6-9 month.

Mine can drink out of sippies if I hold it for them.

Only eating some puffs and some diced vegies.

I have their conv carseats but they are still in the box in their bedroom.

I have huge children! Karina is in 12-18 months, and some of the smaller-cut brands like Ralph Lauren are snug on her. (Crazy, because Nadia wore this stuff at 16 months, and it was baggy!) Kevan can wear some 12-month clothes, but anything that snaps at the crotch has to be 12-18, because he's got a long torso.

Karina drinks very well from a straw cup if I hold it for her. Kevan likes to, and can suck the water up, but he then spits it all out. (I think he's got some oral motor delay, actually.) Both can kind of/sort of drink from a regular sippy if I hold it and tip their heads back, but neither is really interested.

They eat Cheerios and Gerber puffs. Karina gags and vomits on everything else, so ped yesterday just said to hold off for another month and try again.....and Kevan doesn't eat even Cheerios well enough to move on yet.

Yep, they've been in convertible seats since 6 months (see the bit about huge children, LOL). I couldn't lift them in the infant seats anymore!

    At 10 months:

Eloise is 12-18 month clothes. Lincoln is 12 month in length, but a skinny guy--so the waist is big. it's either that or flood-water pants (why can't boys wear capris!)

Yes, they were using a sippy at 9 months...but probably ended up wearing as much as they were drinking

Yes, they are big on solids. Just the way they are--only table foods since about 8-9 months

We have the seats by our door too! They are getting installed this weekend. I didn't want to move them out of their seats because its so much easier to take them places by myself in their car seats, but their feet are hanging over and they weigh too much...so into the new ones they will go!

We haven't really had to buy anything for our girls except footed sleepers, but we are now looking at some in 6-9, some in 12months, and some in 18 months. Aubrey is our larger girl and she is wearing 18 months or bigger at times. It really does depend on the brand of clothing. We gave up on anything that said small and just went for the larg. I have started to buy clothing that is about 12 to 18 months because I know that they will be able to wear them for a while.
    Lots of love!

Henry is in 12 months and 18 months, it of course depends on the brand. Ellie is in mostly 9 months, but she can fit into some 3-6 still and some 12 months - go figure!

They love to drink out of their sippies, but I would not call it effective. Henry does better and will hold his own and get liquids, but then he immediately proceeds to throw it on the floor. Ellie drinks excellently, but we have to hold it for her. Conversely, she loves to hold her own spoon, but Henry will not.

Just in the last few weeks, we switched over to almost exclusively eating table food. What a nice break. Ellie only has one tooth, and Henry has two, but they are both very efficient chewers. Ellie will pick up one bit at a time, but Henry picks up handfuls and shoves it in as fast as it can go. I get worried sometimes, but it's working for him and no choking...yet.

We switched Henry to his convertible about a month ago, but we still have Ellie in the bucket. It's so much easier for us - especially since we go to/from daycare everyday. Also, since it's still cold here in Minnecolda, I don't dress her in a jacket, just cover the bucket with a thick blanket.

Hope that helps!! This is a great fun age!

Madeyn is currently wearing 12 months and Katelyn is wearing 18 months (she has a tummy and a big bootie). :D

Madelyn is learing to drink from a sippy cup but Katelyn has no interest in it.

They both eat solids - I give them rice, small shredded chicken, gerber puffs, and sliced vegetables. Madelyn is a great eater and will eat everythign I put in front of her. Katelyn is very picky and will sometimes turn down the chicken so I have to give her oatmeal or brown rice cereal instead.

Both of the girls have outgrown the infant carrier (not on weight but their feet go past the end of the seat) and I need to switch them over to the convertible seats - I hope to do it soon. :)

Both in 3-6 or 6 month clothes

Do OK with sippies. Hannah (can hold it and put it in her mouth ... still chokes a little) better than Meredith (I have to hold it for her)

They are on Stage 2 baby food and Puffs and Cheerios (they do pretty well ... about a 60% success rate of the food getting into the mouth =)

I think they will be in high school before convertible seats ... LOL ... they are 14 and a 1/2 and 14 pounds! They just aren't all that interested in eating! My boobies are getting their feelings hurt!

What size did/do your kids wear?
I have peanuts. Mine were wearing most 6-12 month stuff from Old Navy (tends to run smaller I think) or on average 6 month stuff except they could wear 9 month onesie type things or overalls.

At 12 months mine still wear most 6-12 old navy stuff, pants they have anything from one pair of 3-6 month (Arizona brand...they're huge) up 9 month. Lengthwise, they can wear 12 months stuff but they have no waist...they're very slender...but Target carries adjustable waist pants and shorts at 12 months (most don't start until 2T) which now I'm snatching up every time I go.

    Were they using sippies effectively?
They were offered but didn't know what to do with them...they started drinking from them with assistance at 11 months, and now they can drink out of them by themselves.

Were they eating "real" solids? (cheerios, diced fruit, and such)
They ate cheerios and puffs and stuff but not with great skill. By 10 to 10.5 months they started eating small diced pieces of grilled cheese sandwiches and some diced fruit. We move to all table food at 12 months...they're doing okay with it.

    Were they in convertible seats?
At 9 months we switched them over but not because of weight and definitely not because of convenience but because of height. They were too long for the infant carrier.

I guess my babes are big because little man is wearing 12-18 month sizes! Our girl is wearing anywhere from 6-12 month sizes. She is really long and skinny so it's hard to dress her sometimes... things are too short before they fit around the middle. Boy, on the other hand, is a tank.

We've been in our convertible seats since 6 months.

They are really good at eating cheerios, graham crackers, and "biter biscuits" but I'm having a hard time getting them interested in anything else. I've tried chunks of cheese, tofu, and bits of banana, and cooked carrot, and no luck there.

They do not get holding their own sippy cup or bottle. They hold it upside down and suck on the wrong end, or hold it upright and suck air out of it.
