At what age did you start bathing them in the baby tub in the bathtub?

When they are teething, on average, how long does it acutally take for the tooth to come in from when they first begin teething?

At what age did they start using the exersaucer?

At 4 1/2 months, what did you do with them all day?

How long did you have them on stage one baby food?

For SAHM, do you have during the week? How do you work things at night and on the weekends when dh comes home?

For SAHM, what do you do for extra income?

I know there are links for info on sleep, but at 4 1/2 months (their adjusted age), how many hours a day should they be napping? Also, is it true that they will probably get tired for another nap after they are awake for 2-3 hours,.

Ok, all I can think of for now, thanks!

At what age did you start bathing them in the baby tub in the bathtub?
We just did this, but should have done it a while ago because they make a mess. I wanted to save my back though, so I used to put a towel on the floor.

When they are teething, on average, how long does it acutally take for the tooth to come in from when they first begin teething?
Lauren is the only one with teeth and she would only be a little fussy for 1-2 days and had only one night that she would cry out once.
We are VERY afraid of when Emma starts to teethe, she is the fussier one on a regular basis.

At what age did they start using the exersaucer?
I started around 4 months. I would roll up receiving blankets for support.

At 4 1/2 months, what did you do with them all day?
Just play, sing, talk, occasionally 20 minutes of tv if I just couldn't take the fussing, go shopping.

How long did you have them on stage one baby food?
Until their six month appt. We started solids at 4.5 months, so at their 6 mo. appt. we were given the go ahead to move on to stage 2.

For SAHM, do you have during the week? How do you work things at night and on the weekends when dh comes home?
I think you may be missing a word in this question, I didn't really get it.

For SAHM, what do you do for extra income?
    Can't answer this.

I know there are links for info on sleep, but at 4 1/2 months (their adjusted age), how many hours a day should they be napping?
Mine took 3-4 naps that would last 30-45 minutes. We weren't on a solid nap schedule until about 6 months.

Also, is it true that they will probably get tired for another nap after they are awake for 2-3 hours.
Oh yeah! They were waking at 6, down for a nap between 8-8:30, another nap at 11-11:30, another nap at 2-2:30, and
usually one more around 4 and then bed around 6:30.

    I hope this helps you!!

    1. Around 9 months, and we still use the kitchen sink most of the time.

    2. It really varies, most of the time when you figure out they are truly teething, that little tooth has already popped through!

    3. 3.5 months, with blankets to prop them.

    4. I just rotated them, jumpers, bouncies, exersaucers, tummy time, floor gym, swings.

    5. Not long, as stage 2 single ingredient foods are almost identical.

    6. No help. I always did all of the night feedings, Jeff would help me with feedings during the day, on weekends, when they were small.

    7. I wish I could think of something to make some $$!! I do consign my baby stuff though, and that is better than nothing!

    8. I believe it has the nap info in the link. I think 2-3 hours sounds reasonable for awake time at that age. Probably closer to 2, now that I think about it.

I figured that you were asking about help. I don't have help during the day from any one other than the cat! LOL! My dh works second shift at a hospital so during the early days he would help me all night long and we would both go back to sleep when the girls did for the first nap of the day. When they started sleeping through, at 4.5 months, I started getting up and doing it solo for the first feeding. I would get him for the second (if he wasn't already up) and he would help me with anything and everything until he went to work. We bathe them in the a.m. because he is home. Occasionally he works days and on those days, I usually do solids by myself and he helps with everything else: playing with them while I make dinner, diaper changes, bottle feeds, etc.

At what age did you start bathing them in the baby tub in the bathtub?
*We started bathing them in the tub around 8 1/2 months. Until then we did the kitchen sink. Sometimes we still use the sink if DH is not home to help me with the bathing.

When they are teething, on average, how long does it acutally take for the tooth to come in from when they first begin teething?
*Per my FIL (retired dentist) it is not an exact science, for each kid it is different but, an average of a week to three weeks. Our little guys have been cutting four teeth for about 2 weeks now even though they have broken the gums.

At what age did they start using the exersaucer?
*We started the saucer around 4 months or so...used a blanket to help stablize them. We also used the swings.

At 4 1/2 months, what did you do with them all day?
*Rotated them from stations....saucer, floor time, swings, being held and sung or read too.
How long did you have them on stage one baby food?
    *Stage 1: 2 months

For SAHM, do you have during the week? How do you work things at night and on the weekends when dh comes home?
*I was a SAHM for six months and now with summer break I am back to SAHM status. I did not have help that was hired except my mom lived with us the first three months during the week and went home to my dad on weekends. DH helps with feeding dinner, playtime, bathtime and bedtime feeding. I get up with them at night if CIO is not working and he will get up and help if he hears major distress from all of us on the monitor.
For SAHM, what do you do for extra income?
    *n/a....I am a teacher.
I know there are links for info on sleep, but at 4 1/2 months (their adjusted age), how many hours a day should they be napping? Also, is it true that they will probably get tired for another nap after they are awake for 2-3 hours,.
    *Becky answered this accurately.
Ok, all I can think of for now, thanks!

At what age did you start bathing them in the baby tub in the bathtub?
About 1.5 months of age, we have a tub that has this hammock thing for when they are tiny, then when they can sit up (with support) you take the hammock thing out and sit them in the tub.

When they are teething, on average, how long does it acutally take for the tooth to come in from when they first begin teething?
Chase is only just starting to teethe so I don't really know.

At what age did they start using the exersaucer?
We started an exersaucer and the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo about 2 weeks ago and they LOVE THEM.

At 4 1/2 months, what did you do with them all day?
Endless succession of wake, nurse, play, nap. For activities, we would do activity time on the activity mats, tummy time, go for walks in the stroller, do "naked time" in the crib (strip off thier clothes and just let them play in their diapers, they love it), sometimes just cuddle together and I'd chat with them. We have bouncies too that I would put them into, or if I was going to clean the bathroom or something I would lay a blanket down and lay them on it and chat with them while I was doing it and they would just watch.

How long did you have them on stage one baby food?
We actually just started solids today! We started cereal at 4 months but they weren't ready for it, so we held off and then did cereal about a week and a half ago and they are doing really well, so today I gave them sweet potatoes and they loved it. I think you're supposed to have them on it until they master eating off of a spoon and run the gamut of several foods without showing signs of allergies.

For SAHM, do you have during the week? How do you work things at night and on the weekends when dh comes home?
I think you meant help, no I don't, unless I ask my parents or MIL to come over so I can nap or whatever, which happens about once every 2 weeks or so. When DH comes home, if he makes it in time, he'll help with tubtime and then I nurse them before bed. Weekends frankly I still end up taking care of them while he works or does things.

For SAHM, what do you do for extra income?
I bartend once or twice a week, I sometimes sell cakes (went to school for pastry arts) and I'm looking into doing mystery shopping. I also sold Avon a few years ago and am thinking about doing it again, you can make some decent pocket change selling it.

I know there are links for info on sleep, but at 4 1/2 months (their adjusted age), how many hours a day should they be napping? Also, is it true that they will probably get tired for another nap after they are awake for 2-3 hours,.
Mine could only be up for about 1.5-2 hours before needing a nap. I'd just watch for signs of tiredness which with my guys were getting fussy and starting to cry. Only a few weeks ago are they starting to rub their eyes or pull on ears when they are tired.

Ok, all I can think of for now, thanks!

Dont want to edit but just wanted to add that at that point I tried to take them out every other day or so, even just to the grocery store or the mall. They love to look at all the different things and I talk to them all the time, like at the grocery store I'll point out what I am putting in the cart, etc. And here's a tip - bring a book or magazine with you when you take the kiddos out. If they conk out in the car on the way home (mine do 90 percent of the time), I would stop and get a coffee or a meal in a drive-thru and then go home and park and enjoy the peace and quiet in the car, sipping my frappucino and reading a book and letting the nuggets nap. It can really be a sanity saver and give you a little "me" time!!!!!

Here's how it was for us :p :

At what age did you start bathing them in the baby tub in the bathtub? - I never did. I had the baby bathtub on the counter next to the sink. When we moved to the tub, I bathed them individually in our inflatable duck tub.

When they are teething, on average, how long does it actually take for the tooth to come in from when they first begin teething? - I thought they started teething at about 4 months old but they didn't get their first tooth until 7.5 months.

At what age did they start using the exersaucer? - We started at 5.5 months

At 4 1/2 months, what did you do with them all day? - Lots of little hand-held toys and black & white flashcards that they loved looking at. Walks in the stroller, singing, infant gym.

How long did you have them on stage one baby food? - I made my own babyfood and I kept it pureed well until they moved to table food. We started with solids at 6 months old and I started giving them finger foods at about 8 months.

I know there are links for info on sleep, but at 4 1/2 months (their adjusted age), how many hours a day should they be napping? Also, is it true that they will probably get tired for another nap after they are awake for 2-3 hours,. - Mine were still following the 2-3 hour rule at that age and then they'd sleep about 10-12 hours at night (not including wake-ups to eat)

    1. I think we started to bathe them in the baby tub in the tub around 8 months. Basically, when they were too big for the baby tub in the kitchen sink. But it really does put a lot of pressure on your back.

    2. Teething is one of those things that is just so completely different for every baby. My dds started teething at 4 months but didn't get any teeth until 8 and 9 months!! Now since about 12 months, they each got 4 teeth with another coming in so it's been a rough month to say the least. My one friends baby got her first tooth at 4 months and had almost all her main teeth by 12 months so it really is different for everyone.

    3. Mine started exersaucer at about 4 1/2 months. Once they were very strong at supporting their head on their own. I would have probably started earlier but I didn't know I could.

    4. I read to them, sang to them, and did a lot of rotation between the swings, the bouncy chairs, the gym matts, the jumparoo, the exersaucers and some shows from the Disney channel which are very colorful and have a lot of great music and songs. At this time, I also tried to get out of the house whenever I could for my own sanity and to break the routine. Even if it was just to walk around Target or my nieghborhood. They really loved the walks around the neighborhood as there are so many things to see and hear.

    5. My one dd started solids at 4 1/2 months as well as she was consuming 40oz of formula so the ped told me to start her on solids. We also waited until the six month appt. to move to stage 2.

    6. I am a SAHM. Do I have help during the week???.............NOPE. I am on my own until dh gets home from work. When dh comes home from work, he plays with them with me and sometimes I get some time to do stuff I couldn't do during the day or to run an errand. On the weekends, we are pretty much 50/50 with the girls. I wake up with them early on Saturday so DH can sleep in and he wakes up with them on Sunday so I can sleep in. We bathe the girls every other night and DH ALWAYS helps me with that. He bathes, dries and dresses one and I do the other (they take a bath together now in the big tub so it makes things a bit easier and quicker).

    6. At this time, I don't do anything to make money but my girlfriend just started a Pampered Chef business. She hosts parties and tries to get her friends and family to host parties which is where she really makes the money. I knew another SAHM who did Body Shop parties. It was a lot of fun to go to and I did buy a bunch of products.

    7. It's amazing how much you forget but I believe at 4 1/2 months my girls were napping after being awake for 3 hours or so. My girls have never been really great sleepers and even from early on could often go even 4 hours before needing a nap. You just have to go by the sleepy signs of your babies (rubbing eyes, zoning out, glazed eyes, crankiness, etc.)

At what age did you start bathing them in the baby tub in the bathtub?
I always bathed them in a baby tub over the sink. I started the day they came home.

When they are teething, on average, how long does it acutally take for the tooth to come in from when they first begin teething?
In the beginning it took my girls 4 months for the first set, and then another 4 months for the second set.

At what age did they start using the exersaucer?
3 months but I think it depends on how strong the babies necks are.

At 4 1/2 months, what did you do with them all day?
Whatever I could think of. At that age there sin't much to do with them. I did dump out a bucket of toys and let them chew on them, i think the best things for this age are the excersaucer and jumperoo.

How long did you have them on stage one baby food?
They were never on stage on foods. I did homemade baby food, and they perfered it thicker.

For SAHM, do you have during the week? How do you work things at night and on the weekends when dh comes home?
My DH id in school full time and working full time so he doesn't help to often. When hes home I have him play with them.

For SAHM, what do you do for extra income?
    nothing.

I know there are links for info on sleep, but at 4 1/2 months (their adjusted age), how many hours a day should they be napping? Also, is it true that they will probably get tired for another nap after they are awake for 2-3 hours,.
At that age my girls would only sleep 1/2 hrs at a time, so I did three naps a day. They were also going to bed at 6pm and sleeping til 6am, so I wasn't to worried about the short naps. As they get older they will sleep longer for their naps.

At what age did you start bathing them in the baby tub in the bathtub? We have always used the baby tub in the sink.

When they are teething, on average, how long does it acutally take for the tooth to come in from when they first begin teething? Can't answer that one, we have been teething for 2 months with no teeth yet.

At what age did they start using the exersaucer? At 5 months using rolled up receiving blankets for support.

At 4 1/2 months, what did you do with them all day? Talked, sang, practiced rolling, playmat/gym, bouncy chairs, swings.

How long did you have them on stage one baby food? Only for about a month, when they had tried all the stage one foods.

For SAHM, do you have during the week? How do you work things at night and on the weekends when dh comes home? No help, but my mom and I visit each other every Tues & Thurs. When DH is here I am able to do more like make dinner, go to the grocery, short errands, etc.

For SAHM, what do you do for extra income? Nothing yet.

I know there are links for info on sleep, but at 4 1/2 months (their adjusted age), how many hours a day should they be napping? Also, is it true that they will probably get tired for another nap after they are awake for 2-3 hours,. Naps have always been so inconsistent at our house, but it seems like at about 6 months they started to get a little more structured.

    Hi here goes.

    1. We just now started using the baby bath tub in the big tub...before it was on the counter in the bathroom. It got way to wet on the floor!
    2. I guess I don't really know...it varies. Rebekah is the only one with teeth and to be honest, she not as bad as my older two were! Or maybe I'm just not as aware because I'm so busy now????
    3. If I remember correctly it was around 4.5 months...whenever I felt like their necks were strong enough...they were pretty wobbly so I used something like a blanket to support.
    4. I have two older children plus the twins so I did a rotation from swing to exersaucer to the floor plus my older two entertained them, and I am in the car a lot running them places as well till school it out anyway!
    5. As soon as I had introduced all the fruits and veggies stage 1 I switched to stage 2.
    6. I don't have any "outside" help, but I'll admit my dd and ds help a lot! Then when DH is home at nights and weekends he helps a little.
    7. I would like to make extra income, but haven't figured what would work for me.
    8. Ummm...it's hard to remember, but I think mine were awake 1-1/2 to 2 hours before they were ready for a nap. They usually wake, eat, play, and then nap. They still are napping 3 x's a day...sometimes. I think we are transitioning to 2 naps now.

At what age did you start bathing them in the baby tub in the bathtub?

We're still using what's called a "Tummy Tub". It's a german thing, basically just a baby bathtub shaped like a bucket, they love it. Once in a while we'll bathe them in the big tub, started this at about four months. We just hold them and let them float around, they have so much fun.

When they are teething, on average, how long does it acutally take for the tooth to come in from when they first begin teething?

Mine don't have any teeth yet.

At what age did they start using the exersaucer?

    We don't use this.

At 4 1/2 months, what did you do with them all day?

It was always nursing, napping, playing all day and it still is. I have play areas set up in several rooms and just move them to the next thing if they get bored. We also have our time where I'll talk to them and cuddle and we'll do tummy time. When it's not raining we'll go for a stroll in the park, I try to go every day.

How long did you have them on stage one baby food?

I'm still nursing them and want to wait as long as possible with introducing any baby foods, they were preemies and I want to make sure they're ready and don't want to risk allergies.

For SAHM, do you have during the week? How do you work things at night and on the weekends when dh comes home?

I don't have any help. My husband comes home from work at six and then he usually takes over so I can have some "me-time".

For SAHM, what do you do for extra income?

I'm lucky, in Germany the government gives you money for having children in the first two years.

I know there are links for info on sleep, but at 4 1/2 months (their adjusted age), how many hours a day should they be napping? Also, is it true that they will probably get tired for another nap after they are awake for 2-3 hours,.

There's not really an answer to this. You have to see how much sleep you're kids need. Every child is different and you have to find out what works best for you and your kids.

At what age did you start bathing them in the baby tub in the bathtub? Probably like a month old, is that bad? I just at 11 months took them out of the baby bath and into the regular bath though.

When they are teething, on average, how long does it acutally take for the tooth to come in from when they first begin teething? i was so sure mine were teething at 3 months, but they didn't get there first tooth till after 9 months, and now they wont stop popping through , they have more then most 1 year olds ! I have to say it really varies on the child, from when I actually could see the tooth about to pop through it was only al few days.

At what age did they start using the exersaucer? 3-4 months

At 4 1/2 months, what did you do with them all day? Walks, they LOVED the swings at the park (the toddler ones) they would laugh and smile the whole time! And it tired them out so they would take the longest nicest nap when we got home! They loved there jumper, excersaucer and mat w/ toybar too.

How long did you have them on stage one baby food? Maybe a month, I think the only real difference between 1 & 2 is size

For SAHM, do you have during the week? How do you work things at night and on the weekends when dh comes home? I was a SAHM for only 4 months, then worked VERY part time until 10 months, which was basically still being a SAHM since I only worked 1 full and 2 half days a week. I always got up with them in the night, although at 6 weeks they were basically sleeping through so that wasn't a big deal. We each did one baby for the nighttime bottle, change, put to bed though no matter if I worked or not that day.

For SAHM, what do you do for extra income? Nothing until I went back VERY part time!

I know there are links for info on sleep, but at 4 1/2 months (their adjusted age), how many hours a day should they be napping? Also, is it true that they will probably get tired for another nap after they are awake for 2-3 hours,. Yes the 2-3 hour thing for me was a LIFESAVER! I actually posted here at my wits end about my girls at that same age, since they were both so cranky all the time, and thats what I was told, and it worked! My girls got up about 7 went for a nap at 9, then another one around 12-1 and the last one at 3 and in bed around 630-7. Not sure about how much they should sleep during the day, there naps were anywhere from 20 min - 2 hours, I just kind of followed there lead!

Just one answer for you. My girls are only 3mnths (not quite) and they are easier to bathe in the big tub than the baby tub and I only do one at a time. I usually only put about an inch of water in and let them stretch out and splash around.... it is my fav part of the day and the only one on one they get w/ me sometimes!!
