If you are out with just one twin and you have a tandem stroller, do you put the baby in the front or back seat? I have to take ds out for a test next week. I think my first time out with just one in a long time

For those with girls, when bathing or changing a diaper, has dd tried to put her hand down on her private area? DD did this today in her bath and I have noticed it sometimes lately during diaper changes. I have checked out the area, and it is not irritated or anything so it should not be bothering her. I just never knew girls did that.

I think I have asked this before but where do your twins take their bottles? Mine have acid reflux and have been told by their therapist that they are not ready for their high chairs (booster seats) but they are not wanting to stay in their bouncy's and I can't lay them down due to the acid reflux.

    Not baby related:
Why do we have to adjust for men to treat us the way we want, why can't they adjust first? In other words, when we are tired or need help, we have to change the way we ask or let it be known or it is just ok for them to give us an attitude. And while we are on the topic, why do they accommodate everyone else, except for the wife (with sucker stamped on her forehead) who is just always suppose to understand when she is the one that is shortchanged her break or nap or whatever.

No advice on this, sorry. I've never been out with just one.

Yep, one of my girls does it all the time. But she's also the one to readily explore every other area when it's uncovered, belly, shoulders, etc.

My girls were medicated for reflux and I have fed them propped on their boppies for a long time.

Emma does this. It's totally normal. They are just exploring!

I laid them down on a blanket on the floor, with their heads on a regular bed pillow.

It depends on what the baby is doing when we get to our destination. If the baby is sleeping, I usually just attach the car seat to the front of the stroller so that I don't disturb the sleep. If my baby is awake, I usually put him in the front if he/she has just napped so they can see everything, but if they haven't napped, I put them in the back because it reclines completely for when they inevitably fall asleep.

Both of my babies (DD & DS) are very interested in all of their parts. It is completely normal !

I always feed both of mine in my arms one after another. I would keep my DS elevated in my arms for about 20 mins. after he ate when his reflux was still really bad.

Have you thought of using a sling? I've taken one of my boys for a Dr's appt and I just used my Mei Tai. It was a lot easier than taking the stroller out.

totally normal! I have an older daughter who's 4 and she's done that before (and they still do that when they're older just an FYI)

I have umbrella single strollers, so on that rare occasion that I'm out with just one, I use one of those. They are pretty cheap and come in handy if you are out with DH or someone else, and don't want to take the big honkin' double stroller.

Totally normal. I just move their hands if I need to wipe or close up the diaper. Now that they are older, I can tell them to move their hand. They usually want to stick their hand in the diaper cream.

Can yours sit yet? I think at 8 months, I would sit on the floor with them and hold their bottles. Mine never held their own bottles, or I had them in my lap and took turns.

Typically I am not using a stroller because I am at the grocery store using their cart.

Well of course, all babies want to know what we are hiding in there! LOL

My guys loved their boppies. I used to lay them in it and they would move around if they wanted. Most of the time they just stayed there. They also has reflux.

Kelly, I do have an umbrella stroller but at 6 and a half months adjusted age, I thought my little guy was to young for it. How old do they have to be when you start using it?

I installed DDs convertible carseat tonight and I thought of a few more questions:
Do you use sunshades on your windows? For those with an SUV, do you just have them on the sides or the back too? Do they work? Do they bother you when driving?

My twins were really overheated in the infant carseats, the covers for the new ones seem to be heavy too, but I guess it is like a regular carseat fabric, is it just the design of the infant seat that overheats them? Will they be cooler in the convertible?

i don't get to do this often, but when i do, the one stays in the back seat of the duoglider. i feel then she is more "protected" from comments and ignorant people.

one of mine does that. and i just tell her, "that's your privates. that is where you go peepee". I encourage her not to touch it.
I'm sorry I have no advice on the reflux issues. if you have the First years four way feeding seat, it will recline quite a bit and I would think you could try it. if they have enough head control for sitting up assisted.

Wow, I know what you mean, men can be dense sometimes. sometimes i end up exploding at DH for several days ina row and then he figures out what we need to do to help me through this intense life called twins. It sounds like you might need some time out of the house and with some girlfriends -- no kids. coffee, facial, pedicure, whatever.

As long as they are sitting up, should be fine to use it. I started using it at 8 months. Before that, when I took Ainsley to her endochrinologist appt alone, I carried her in the infant carrier.

I have them on the side windows. Yes, the one on the passenger side does bother me, but I'm used to it.

They do seem to get sweaty in the carseats, but there's not a whole lot you can do about it.

Have you tried to give them their bottles in their carseats? Also, you can buy the highchairs that somewhat recline, and you could do it that way as well. If not, prop them up on the couch with a pillow or something behind them, and feed them that way. I did that a lot.

Both DS & DD reach for their privates during diaper changes. Totally normal. They are discovering their bodies, and everything is fascinating to them! Ears, hair, toes, knees, and "down there". As long as they're not sticking their hands in poo or getting in the way of a wipe, I just let them do their thing. It's never too early to give them the message that all parts of the body are good and nothing is "dirty".
