How old did you start giving raisins to your kids. My girls are 16 months and I want to start givining them raisins. My DH seems to think they are too young. They eat everything and have had no problems chewing..

I believe I started around 12ish months. I watched them with the first couple to make sure they were not choking on them.

Sydney choked / vomitted after eating raisins too fast (she eats everything too fast). So be careful of the choking hazard and be sure to brush teeth! (my girls don't get raisins anymore since that incident).

i would wait on raisins. they give you cavities because the sugar in them and they stick to your teeth. or just brush their teeth after they eat them. thats what my dentist said anyway

At our 1 year appt our doctor told us to wait on raisins because they are a choking hazard. She didn't say at what age it would be appropriate. I didn't even know about the teeth issue.

I think 16 months is fine, just make sure they don't eat too many at once. Also, be aware that you will probably see them coming out the other end, and don't let them eat too many at a sitting.
